you should get the first one because its longer, its has a better storyline, and better characters. But the second one is still a great game.
The first one all the way. You need a game that can challenge you, and that FE game pretty much sums it up, which makes the game more enjoyable.
The producers also put more effort into the game, like for the fact each of the main chars has their own unique upgraded class, and the sickest battle animations when using thier ulitmate weapons, while the lords in thier upgraded forms of Sacred Stones (Ie the second one)Â are mearly copies of each other (To be more precise, edited copies of eliwood from the first English GBA one) and everyone attacks the exact same with their ultimate weapon.
The first one also had a much, much more engaging storyline, and wasn't cliched like SS, and virtually all the chars were likable and weren't ass ugly *Cough* Giliam *Cough*, had at least SOME importance to the storyline and weren't simply introduced and quickly forgotten like in the sacred stones, and It isn't as hard leveling up the ultra weak ones up. They were also more memorable like Sain and his lecherous antics.
The first one was also much longer by ten or so missions, AND had 3Â campaigns (Â in total, even though the third is practicaly just a remix of the second from Hectors point of view) which included another bunch of new missions in addition to that previous ten.
The second one has a more improved gaming engine though, and you can custimize much more of your charictors and it had a sick new world map screen, but the end of game Creature Campaign was a hassle if you wanted to see your ending again without copying your origional file before starting it, but you can get extra chars like some of the bosses.
Overall their both good games, I highly like both of them, but you'd get such a better kick out of the first one, because its so much more engaging, also due to the fact it was the one designed to be the first american release and it was polished up more, but sacred stones is not a game to overlook though.
