I noticed some white spots on my GBA SP's LCD screen, I just noticed cause it's large enough to distract me from playing my games, is this like dust under the screen? Or the LCD screen is "scratched?" I tried using a soft tissue paper to wipe the screen, still it's there.. Anyone happened to know anything? Thanks!!

It's called a dead pixel. There's no way to fix it :(. I have a few white dead pixels myself, not on the DS though.

Ah swell, I think it's time to get a new player then, is there any way to prevent dead pixel from occuring? Or does it appear with time? If it's the latter then it really sucks. I've been wanting a Micro, but I've heard issues with the thing, like it can't play certain game, ex. Yggdra Union, I will eventually get a DS, but I love the GBA too much. And by the way, how bad is your dead pixels? I noticed a few in the middle, but those are small, latest was about a few hours back, at the edge/corner, it's really bright white dot, nothing big, but distractiing enough, when the screen is black, there you go!

Actually, a lot of SPs have a problem with dust getting under the screen, so it may be that. And any LCD screen has a good possibility of dead pixels. You really just need to get used to it, because you usually have a better chance of getting a screen with dead pixels than ones without. I wouldn't go out and buy a new system just because of a dead/stuck pixel or two. =/

If it's a white pixel and you've just noticed it, it might be stuck. Check and see if you can see it when the GBA's off. If you can, then it's a piece of dust. If it's only there when the screen is on, then it's a stuck pixel. Stuck pixels (white or colored) usually go away after a while, but dead pixels (always black) never do.

It's a stuck pixel, it only appears when the system is on, otherwise the screen is "clean" when off, it's a bright white dot, nothing life-changing, but I get distracted and can't help looking at that bright white dot, it's bugging, I think it's about time I get a DS, I've been wanting one for quite some times now. By the way any ways to prevent Stuck/Dead piexels from occuring?

Nope. Unfortunately they're just a normal part of life when you have LCD screens. If you get one on your DS and it's in an out-of-the-way area that you won't notice much, I'd just try to live with it until it unsticks. But it it's like in the middle of the screen and it really bothers you, you can usually just take it back to Walmart or wherever you bought it and exchange it. I did it with my original DS because there were two stuck pixels right in the middle of the top screen that stuck out all the time when I'd try to play a game.

Ah, over time it will unstick itself? It doesn't bother me as much as it did for the first few times. I just have to live it, like all the others, they have Stuck/Dead Pixels too, it just got my by surprised though that's all. :) Currently saving up for a DS, and going to do a thorough check that my copy doesn't have any DSP on the screen. Thanks for all the replies guys.
