Hey man, congrats, I did not. I played Baten Kaitos until after the final bosses of disc one. You know, the ones that are suppose to be maddening hard. The hardest bosses in the game, and supposedly the hardest bosses IN THE HISTORY OF MAN KIND. The type of bosses that make people level up 10 levels instead of using their heads. Well, I went in without preparation or knowing all of this, and died. Then I rearranged my deck and won with ease. Kinda lost interest in the game after that, as there was supposedly no more challenge. And I only played Origins a little bit.
I beat both and Im' having a hard time deciding which one is the better game. The sequel (prequel) improves on some parts yet takes some steps back in others. I'd probably go with the first since it was a lot fresher at the time (and since Origins reuses many of the locales from the first). I found the boss to Origins a hell of a lot easier than the boss to Eternal Wings. AlthoughI did like his design and music more.
i got to the part in the first one where you have to fight kalas in the first one and couldnt beat him and it takes like 20 minutes for each battle so ive kinda given up since then. but someday ill go back and beat it.
