I've read the Gamespot review of the game and the review seemed to be lukewarm. Have read other reviews also from some other sites. Wanted to get some feedback from a few in the forum that have played.

First, I'll say that basically I'm looking a fun, multiplayer game. My daughter just started playing soccer herself (she's 7) so I figured this game might be fun for us to play. We've had alot of fun playing Mario Kart DD cooperatively. The action might be a little fast for her to handle in the soccer game, but my thinking is that we'll probably play cooperatively most of the time (until she gets the hang of it).

From alot of the reviews I've read, generally it seems like alot of the user reviews are pretty positive. Seems like people enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the game and that it's just not a very deep single player game.

Just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on the game in general.

It's a fun game, and should be just about alright for a 7 year old. I'm trying to remember when I first played a soccer game, and I was probably about 7 and managed allright, and while standard soccer games are very diferent, the fundamentals are the same. She might not be able to master some of the more difficult moves (I'm 18, been gaming all my life, played the game loads and I'm still useless at using the power-ups, but that probably says more about me than the game), but they are not vital to enjoy the game.

If you're looking for a multiplayer game, then you should get this one because the multiplayer is its charm. Its really easy to learn as well, and there are a few different tournaments to compete in and unlock stuff.

The gamehas a great multiplayer, and I guess she will love it. It may be too fast for a 7-year-old but she'll get used to it and have lots of fun.

My thinking is that game game basically looks like Mart Kart...only with soccer instead of cars. However from reviews I've read, basically it sounds like the unlockables aren't as good MK and maybe not as much variety as expected with specific characters and fields.

But it still looks like it could be a fun game to team up with my daughter on and play. I do figure she'll get the hang of it....she's picking up Mario Kart pretty well.

And being that she's just started playing soccer, I'm thinking it might help her learn at least a little about the game in general in terms of passing and shooting. If you've ever watched 6-7 year olds play soccer, they basically hoard around the ball like ants on a crumb of bread. Thinking this game might help her see the need for passing and spacing a little bit.

Then again, maybe it won't.....

It is awesome. Who cares about the charactors or the unlockables? The game is great without them. Man.... nailing birdo into that electric fence never felt so good.

In a nut shell it's not as good as MK: DD, will she enjoy it? Yes she will I think, Mario Strikers is fun albeit annoying and frustrating but playing co-operatively will be fine for her. You have to bear in mind Mario Kart is one of the greatest mutliplayer games of all time so hard to compare too. Try Mario Power Tennis too that is really good multiplayer (especiallly 4 players)
