Had a lot of fun with both, but while the N64 was better-known and sold more consoles, I'll take the GameCube. Cheaper system to build a collection of games with, a variety of quality and deeply memorable games instead of the N64's stable of great games that spanned only a few different genres. Sorry N64 fans.
The N64 had far more memorable moments for me, and more games that simply grabbed me and wouldn't let go. The only game that did that for me on the cube was Metroid Prime. But the 64...
Ocarina of Time
Perfect Dark
Goldeneye
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
Rogue Squadron
Shadows of the Empire
Vigilante 8
Episode 1 Racer (BEST racer I've ever played)
And so many more. That console was absolute magic and I couldn't care less how unsuccessful it was. That was an incredible system.
CFH90
Cant say it any better than that.
Oh yeah: Jet Force Gemini and Donkey Kong 64. *whistles*
