I think that would be a good move on Nintendo's part. I thought the Twilight Princess would only be for the Wii, but they released some for GC. Is it likely they would do the same with SSBB? Not everyone wants to spend the money on a Wii since there aren't that many great games for it yet... Not a big deal if they don't though, I've got my PS2 to fall back on.

Nope. It was obvious Nintendo was done with Gamecube when they moved Super Paper Mario and DK Jet over to Wii.

Err, TP started its life on the GC but was ported to the Wii, and most games (like SPM) have gotten moved from the GC to Wii. Almost nobody would by SSBB for the GC; it may get comparable sales on both platforms now, but moving towards the future it would only get sales on the Wii.

Wrong. Nintendo still produces the GC and it's first-party games, and therefore is not completely done with the GC.

They'd never do that. A lot of people bought the Wii mostly for SSBB, SMG, and MP3. If one or more of those were on the GC they might not buy a Wii.

This is exactly why there will be no GameCube version. If they release all of their best games on both GameCube and Wii, there would never be a reason why anyone would want to get a Wii. Nintendo is finished with GameCube development.

I think SSBB being released on the Gamecube isn't going to happen because it was never announced on the 'Cube originally like Twilight Princess was (thats why Nintendo released it on both Wii and 'Cube). Also, if Super Smash Bros. Brawl (which is shaping up to be one of the Wii's best titles) gets released on the 'Cube, isn't that basically saying that the Wii isn't really "next-gen" at all, seeing that two of its games (Twilight Princess and SSBB) can be handled by a "last-gen" console??

Nintendo is finished with GameCube development.

Even so, they haven't completely stopped supporting the system. It was the same with the N64 in 2002; they no longer developed for it but they also didn't completely stop supporting the system since they still produced it.

Sorry but they are not going to relese it for GC. I was hoping for that also, then i got worried and bought a wii. Nintendo is pretty much done with GC, a couple games mit be reseased but thats to big of a game to be relesed on GC.

"Support" usually means "game releases", so they are not supporting it. Nintendo may or may not still be producing GameCube systems and games; I haven't seen any proof to back up either claim. But there certainly won't be any more GameCube games from Nintendo, just as there were no more N64 games from Nintendo after the GameCube launch.

Various sites have official comfirmation that Nintendo still produces the GC and all of it's first-party games. Therefore, they aren't completely done with the GC.

Lol stop fooling yourself, there will only be poor games coming to GC. Go buy yourself a Wii just like everyone else, they aren't that expensive.

Good advice...Take it. I mean it has BC anyway and you very rarely find much GC games/acessories in store nowadays it's all DS and Wii.

The point is the system is still produced and available, and therefore it isn't completely finished. Accept that fact.

Go buy yourself a Wii

You're telling me to buy a Wii when I bought over 6 months ago?

it's all DS and Wii.

You want it to be all DS and Wii. Stores still sell the GC system, games, and accessories. GBA is still available as well. So guess what? It's not all DS and Wii.

I have a Game Boy Player and Broadband Adapter, which don't work on Wii. So, there really isn't any need to get rid of my GC.

It might be a good idea, because the game is already scheduled for the Wii, so I think it won't be released for the GameCube.

For Nintendo, it pretty much is. The next press release from Nintendo that mentions GameCube will be "GameCube no longer in production".

GameCube is still produced, and so is it's first-party games. So it's not history, and Nintendo's not done with it. Those are facts,so there's no need to argue.

Nintendo not developing more GC games does not mean they are completely done with it. They still manufacture it and the games they released for it, people continue to purchase the hardware and software and continue to be entertained. Therefore, they aren't completely done with it. It's a fact, so accept it.

It's not history until Nintendo discontinues manufacturing the system, games, and accessoriesandwhenthey all can't be found be found in stores anymore.

And no, they aren't producing GC games still because they can be played on the Wii. If that were the reason, then they wouldn't be producing the GC system. So once again, the system isn't done yet. It's getting closer to that point, but isn't there yet and most likely won't for a few months.

The link I posted may of been from March, but I recieved an e-mail from Nintendo on the beginning of June and they confirmed for about the tenth time that they're still continuing production of the GC. And that wasn't long ago.
