I've heard that the game is 4 disc. So to those who have it, does that get in the way of playing the game? In a RPG, the gameplay is supposed to be free roaming, and you're supposed to be able to go anywhere and do anything. Does having that many discs get in the way of that?

It's 2 discs, not 4.

Oh ok. So the same question, is free roaming an issue in the game?

Do you really think having to switch the disk once in the entire game is going to get in the way of anything?

Once you get to a certian part in the game, you have to switch the disc. Once you switch the disc you can do whatever you want in the game without having to switch back.

Around half-way into the game I think you switch discs other than that, free-roam as much as you want.

Not in most games like SC: Chaos Theory or RE. But in a RPG, since the entire world should be free to roam at all times, a switching disc may prevent you from getting to certain parts of the game b/c it's not on the disc. But like Trickshot said, that's not the case, so no problem I guess. Now only to find it...

Yeah, everything except for plot-related one-time things is copied on both discs. I'm pretty sure it's just the voice acting and the FMV cutscenes that take up most of the space...

30 hours to beat Tales? I don't know, if you complete all side-quests and completely explore the game down to the last detail you should take around 50-80 hours. Well at least that's how long I took. I like to take my time with RPG's.

Took me 80 hours to beat it my first time, but I like to do a lot of sidequests.

same here i like to take my time on RPGs. i think it took me like 72 hours to beat it 100% with sidequests and everything. right now im going through it a second time, and i dont know how anyone could beat it in 30 hours, thats impossible, even 45 hours is pretty fast to complete it.

Yea. I'm soon going to start playing it again. I'm on my 8th way through.

My bad. I was thinking simply "beating" it. I have several saved games that are "beaten" at 23 or so hours. However, my 100% game is more like 70.

i dont think there has ever been an RPG where you have to switch back and forth between discs, like has been said before the FMV and voice acting are the only things that arent on both discs. I remember when FFVII came out with 3 discs i was worried about this as well, but after that game i realized it has really been a non-issue with RPGs.

Yeah, I know how you feel... I think the game did a good job of drawing up to the ending though; if it had ended any time before it did, I would have been mad.

Yes, one of the rare games I played through twice in a row when I first got it. I will play through it again before the sequel comes out.

Yeah, ToS is two discs long. Once you beat a certain part of the game, the game will ask you to switch to Disc 2. And no you do not switch between discs once on the 2nd.
