I was interested in BK when it came out but never got it. So to the people that have played both, should I get the original or Origins first? I know Origins happens earlier in the story but that doesnt necessarily mean it should be played first.
I would say play the original Baten Kaitos first. IMO it's a little bit better. Also, the stories are pretty separate from each other; they contain little similarities. And after playing the first one, playing the second one and seeing everything 20 years before and seeing what's different and alike is pretty interesting too. But seeing it 20 years after is a little odd, usually it's better to play the games in the series in order for most game series out there.
It dont really matter becasue the first one dont give away any spoilers for origins. But i would play the first one first just because it came out first. And if you still cant choose play them both at the same time lol.
OK so, I have both of the BK's... The better one is the first one that came out... I can't remember the exact name, but it is MUCH better than Origins.
PLUS its alot cheaper.. so if you are still going to bye one you should definately get the first that came out (it has ocean in its name;) )
Honestly Origins is the better version, it improves on the mistakes of the first. However for you to appreciate Origins you'll need to play Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean first. That way you'll have some knowledge of the world and when you play through Origins the plot will have a greater effect.

I agree 100%. Origins is my favorite, but i would recommend starting with Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean.
