I just saw BioShock at EB games for $129.99 on X360, WTF!! I realise the guys (& girls) who work on these games work hard, and I have no problem paying for a good game, but $130!! C'mon, and, the SAME game is on PC for $110! how the hell does that work!

Man I am so sick of seeing the price of games just get higher and higher, especially on Xbox, at the rate its going, we're going to pay $200 for games in 2 years. Oh well... had my rant.

Somehow, either you have made a mistake, or they have made a mistake... unless those prices are another currency other than USD.

Or perhaps they were prices for some sort of Collector's Edition.

I think it's a mistake.

But if they think I'm spending $130 to get a metal box, some "making of" stuff, and a crappy little action figure, they've got another thing coming. Any game thathas a"Collector's Edition"for $130 and doesn't include some type of necessary peripheral makes me wish it ill.

$60 is already too expensive as it is.

Amazon lists the prices as being $50 on the PC and $60 on the 360. I see no signs of a collectors edition of any sort. Perhaps you are delusional.

How can anyone actually believe that isn't a mistake? Come on, seriously. It's common sense. Games are currently at $60 with CEs at $70 and that crazy Halo 3 special edition helmet thing is the only one that goes way above at over $100. Think about it for a second and you'll realize it's a typo or some idiot did it as a joke.

Yeah you're right. Aside from the GTA IV delay it's a pretty slow day. Heck I was even debating about even posting this message as to the amount of work needed for it. This whole Internet thing is just way too taxing. I think I need a break.

You could have the game preordered for $40 from liongames. Some of us who buy from him posted it on here a couple of times, along with Mass Effect and GTAIV. There is going to be a big daddy figurine as big as Ken Levine's head which will cost you extra.

Everything costs more in Europe and the rest of the world pretty much. American's get everything cheap. In the UK I think a PS3 is about 800 dollars US. People complaining about the price of stuff in the US should clue in to how good they have it. Jesus I am paying 10-15 bucks more for my games and I live in Canada. I just shelled out 68 bucks for Super Mario Strikers which is being sold for 59.99 CAD at EB Games. PS3 and 360 games cost 10 bucks more so you wind up paying 78 dollars for a game, hell Oblivion for the PC was like 80 bucks when it came out which was just insane.

dchan01

Because the only region they can import from is Europe due to the PAL restrictions, and shipping costs would be expensive, thus making it not worth it in the long run. Now if everyone was on NTSC like Asia and North America are, then importing would not be such a huge issue.

Yeh, I've tried a few online stores, and so far so good. I will probalby get all my games that way from now on unless its cheap in the stores. Still pisses me off when I see it on the shelve for that price though, its like fuel prices in Australia as well, the stores are charging whatever the hell they want.

$110AUD is like the RRP for collector's edition titles in Australia. Of course you can get it cheaper else where, since EB always sell their games at the RRP (which is why I don't buy from them).

I'm not sure about you but those prices are considered normal (but not accepted). Did you like just started buying games or what?

I believe that at least the 480p standards are the same in Europe and the US. I'm not sure about the higher resolution progressive scan standards, but I would hope that the Brits didn't feel the need to improve on the US standards this time around. So if you get a progressive scan TV, youmight be able to import systems and games from the states for a lot less cash. I know this works witha EuropeanWii on a US TV at 480p as I was just messing around with it today at work. I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around.

Well if it's any comfort to you guys a game that cost you 60 dollars will cost me 120 and a game that cost you 130 will cost me 260, so I see no reason for you to be upset about it. If I got my games for your price I would be able to afford twice as many.

In England we have to pay more for Game stuff as well :cry:eg: (wih current conversion rates)

A PS3 costs: $866

An Xbox 360 (Premium) costs: $577

A wii costs: $367

Gears of war costs: $77

At my guess this is because £1 = $2 so paying £38 doesn't sound too bad but in reality you are paying equal to $77

PS3 goes for around $835-840 in Europe, 360 for around $530, 360 Elite expected to be around $630

Games around the $75-$95 mark.

And some americans wonder why those of us in the UK moan about getting the smelly end of the stick.

If we are talking about NTSC-U. I have seen a bunch of e-shops selling Bioshock CE for PAL region.
