I'll never get too old for gaming. I've been avid gamer for 35+ years now and I'm probably enjoying it more now then ever before.
I must say I am very envious of your mindset toward video games, especially after such a long playtime; enjoying them without the clouding influence of cynicism and made up jaded standards.
I guess that is what true gaming is all about

damn! You must be the oldest guy on the board :3
There is no such thing as "being too old for gaming". There is such a thing as "modern gaming being shit".
heh...well said.
MP is indeed bs, and who doesn't wish we had more games with great story lines?
Found this article which i found interesting. 5 things that tells you are getting too old for videogames
Link
Do you guys feel that even these points are valid or may there be other things that you sometimes get sick of games?
I agree with the last point.
These days devs try so hard to include EVERYTHING that it often just gets tedious.
And to some extent I agree with the first point. (These f2p "games" just have to stop!)

These things don't really have to do anything with age, but they are interesting points to make
I'm 38 and I starting to think maybe I am too old for games. I think the internet is ruining my gaming experience. I hate multiplayer and dlc. I miss the days when you bought a game and you got a complete finished product in the box. I can't stand the fact that developers strip content from development time to sell at a later date. I have a game collection that spans 30 years. I'm seriously thinking about selling it and putting the money into other hobbies I could use a new fishing boat.
That doesn't really make you too old for games though, it just means you dislike the way the industry is being handled. It's still a young and rapidly evolving industry, maybe don't game for now but keep up with the latest about the industry? I agree with you but I don't think these facets are permanent and it'll be perfected over the years.
What if you think the graphics are worse than ever?
Then you're just blind.
No age is too old to play. Your tastes may and will change certainly and likely even the time you are able/willing to spend on them but nothing on that list means you're too old. Personally I've never liked multiplayer. I don't care about whether a game has a story or not but if it's cheesy then it certainly doesn't help. How long a game is remains as meaningless to me as it did when I was 8, so long as it's fun that's all that matters.
Only difference to me now at my age of 38 is that I'm a lot more selective, I know myself so well that I rarely ever purchase a game that I end up not liking and if I do it was due to impulse Steam or Methhead sale. I'm also less patient to play and complete old school games such as Contra like I used to and the types of games I like these days aren't the same as when I was younger. Plus I indulge in other hobbies as well, not out to be some video game freak geek that wastes their life away or anything.
I highly disagree.... Considering how this medium has been changing the "You're too old for gaming" thing is no longer true, the medium has become compelling for older audiences..... However its still possible for people to grow out of gaming but its got less to do with age.
