In order for a game that has our favorite horror characters to exist, the gameplay needs to be fun and have depth. I don't think under any circumstances that an adventure game would work because the game would lack depth. Eventually, dispatching Elm Street children and campers in the woods would get old. So the only option left would be to put all the horror guys together in a fighting game and add some cool finishing moves similar to those of the Mortal Kombat franchise from Midway.
Put in a deep fighting engine with tons of combos and have the graphics up to the standards of both the PS3 and 360, and you got yourself a game. I truly don't understand why this hasn't been done before. Imagine, a fighing game with all the popular horror characters such as Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and even Leatherface duking it out in a fighting system similar to that of DOA or something.
