I believe that Atlus is one of the most inventive and truly original companies in the gaming industry today. Yes, it's true that not all their games are hits, but I appreciate a company taking risks over releasing someting old and proven.

With games like Trauma Center, Etrian Odyssey, Odin Sphere, Riviera, Contact, Disgaea, Ogre Battle, Cubivore, Izuna, Shin Megami Tensei and more, Atlus is one of my favourite developers/publishers today.

So with all that, let it be heard that Atlus is awesome.

I'm new to Atlus ? Why do they write it like this? Why not Atlas ?? Anyway... Odin Sphere alone was enough to make me watch out for every title they make. The game is a blast.

Ya, Atlus is great. It's so great I wrote a blog entry about it not too long ago. ;)

Atlus is awesome. Wonder if there's an Atlus union on GS (probably not, but who knows?).

Own all these games and loving them :)

Thank God SOMEONE else realized the greatness that is Contact and also Izuna.

Anyway IMHO Atlus is by far the best publisher in the Western Market now. :)

I'm more of a fan of their Shin Megami Tensei series, but most of the stuff they do outside of that is strictly from hunger. Disgaea really didn't impress me, and the Ogre series is now in the clutches of Square-Enix, why they sold it to them, I have no idea.

Atlas made Snowboard Kids on the N64... They were responsible for taking a lot of my childhood. Those games were awesome.

Well, I don't really attribute the likes of Disgaea or Contact as really being Atlus's games, as they really only were responsible for western localization of those titles. Granted, they get mad props for doing that, but when it comes to giving credit for the core game themselves, Nippon Ichi gets it for Disgaea, and Grasshopper Manufacture gets it for Contact.

This is why I say they are my favorite Western publisher, since if it wasn't for Atlus these games would NEVER come here. :)

Indeed, a great company. I'm saddened by the lack of Astro Boy: Omega Factor mentions in this topic (I'm sure it was an Atlus developed game - if not, excuse my ignorance :( ). It's a challenging scrolling beat 'em up for GBA that pushes the hand held to its limits and makes good use of the classic anime franchise.PAJ89

AB:OF was "released in 2004 by Sega and developed by Treasure Co. Ltd and Hitmaker"

Oops, thanks for correcting me there, and like I said, please excuse the ignorance. I'll go ahead and delete my other post. The only reason I can think of that I thought it was an Atlus game is probably because there is a character called "Atlas" in the game, so I get confused with that.

I approve and agree. They're supposed to be making an appearance at this year's E3, so hopefully we'll hear more about their upcoming projects. I'm really hoping for news on the new Shin Megami Tensei, personally.

They certainly get props for being one of the most original RPG developers out there (even if some of the games mentioned were only published by Atlus). I own some of them, including Thousand Arms, which I enjoyed immensely. :)
