Perhaps this comment belongs in the overrated games thread, but Angry Birds probably take the cake for the most overrated game of the last 10-years. I got the chance to place the iphone version a little while ago and while it was fun, I cannot see how it has garnered the following it has emassed. I guess that's cool that someone ported it to the genesis, but this game has been hailed as the next Super Mario Bros. . . .give me a break . . .
Angry Birds is one of the better examples I can think of as a "pick up and play" game. You can 'casually' go through each level taking out all the enemies, or you can be 'hardcore' about getting all 3 stars and an ever-increasing high score. There are also the versions on FaceBook which challenge you to friendly competition with other friends in weekly tournaments. All that said, you don't like it, and you don't have to like it, that's what's great about any game.Perhaps this comment belongs in the overrated games thread, but Angry Birds probably take the cake for the most overrated game of the last 10-years. It's not that I don't like it, I said it was fun, I just think it is completely overrated. Yeah, it would be a good game to play if you were just looking to pass the time and have a little bit of fun, but when people start saying it is the next Mario, that's where I draw te line. I'm not a Nintendo or Mario fanboy, but Mario games (at least most) deserve their reputation. Angry birds on the other hands does not. Just my opinion.
I haven't ever played the game because I'm still using an old fliphone cell-phone, haven't upgraded to a smart phone yet. But from my understanding, doesn't the game involve using a touchscreen? If so, isn't a release on the Genesis gonna really do a number on the controls?

SNAKE! YOU'VE CREATED A TIME PARADOX!!
But seriously, I'm with Shenmue. AB is pretty overrated. Yes, it's a decent "pick up and play" but it's a blatant ripoff of a number of titles that came before it and the game's imprecise controls and physics engine make it a game of luck as much as it is a game of skill. Give me Plants vs Zombies or Cut the Rope over this game any day.

it certainly looks like Angry Birds, but a quick look at it shows the physics are severly downgraded, kinda kills the game, maybe the 32X would help it :P
still , I like it, the sound in particular is well done (although thats obivously because its not on cartridge, and thus not constrained), and considering the work was done by one person , its quite nice.

You can play it on the PC if you want w/ a mouse. It looks like this Genesis version uses cursor controlled by the dpad to the same effect.
It has lost every incentive for play with this port. Sad waste of time and resources.... Classic "Cool Story Bro" thumb-up to the developer.
