GoldenEye, Super Mario 64, and Metroid Prime would be higher on my list.

I'm pleased to see Zelda II...I would rank it even higher on my own list.

Halo 1 and 2, and FFVII are too high, but I understand why.

I didn't see Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark, FFII (IV), and Earthbound, among other games.

Lastly, I'm probably an old schooler at heart, but modern games got the shaft...what were there, 10 or so games from this decade? God of War II>God of War. Where is Ninja Gaiden for Xbox, Paper Mario for the N64, and Okami?

Overall, I think this is a better list than IGN's most recent one. My own list would look pretty similar to it, just with different orders. I enjoyed it.

Even the rear end is pretty good. Consider how many games there are in existance. Even number 100 is good. Even the 200th best game would be considered really good if you stop and think about it.

this list is crap imo. no disrespect but when you have a list where zelda 2,mk3,halo 2,mario 2 in the greatest games list is ridiculous, those are like the worst games in the franchise.

2 many old games that don't even deserve to be there....there are obvious choices to place on there...but i didn't even see streets of rage, shining force, smash tv.

games that are missing:gran turismo isn't in the list (greatest driving sim game) no 3d fighting game,ultima,x-com and many more games that aren't there.

Overall a pretty good list I dont agree with a couple things, but of course no one has the same taste in games. I just feel Super Mario 64 was way too low. Also I wouldve probably had LoZ OoT, Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World in the top 5. I really liked that you had TMNT 4 in there. However I felt there was a lack of racing games. One other game I felt should have definitely been in there was Ristar on Genesis...top notch platformer. However thats just what I think I have absolutely no problem with the games you have in there because you have legitimate reasons. Well done.bitemeslippy

Halo, by no means, should ever be above Final Fantasy 7.

Of course I have a few issues here and there, but lists are always subjective. But one thing that always gets me, why does no one ever include Pokémon on these lists? Surely the originals had to be one of the top 100 of all time, I mean, it was a freaking phenomenon. I know I was drawn in by the gameplay long before the show became a hit... (well not LONG, but before anyways :P)

mariokart64fan why did you give a 10 to Gran Turismo 3 but only a 7.0 for Gran Turismo 4?! Gran Turismo 4 surpassed GT3 in every way: graphics, number of cars, number of tracks, and added in new modes such a b-spec and photo mode. I don't see why anyone whould rate GT3 over GT4.nVidiaGaMer

Maybe he thought the gameplay was much better in GT3. That happens a lot nowadays. They brutally sacrifice gameplay and storylines with graphics and features.

99. Rampage= Not a bad game in its time, but come on top 100?

98. Batman= While not a bad game, there were a ton of other rival games that were much better. Although wall jumping was cool.

So, I agree about 12% but if I were to make my own list I would probably exclude, Oregon Trail... so 11%, still sadly one of the best lists I have seen in a long time when it comes to my taste in games. Many of the games on there are good, just nowhere near the top 100 for me. I know its all a matter of opinion though, so overall whoever made the list doesn't have bad taste. Just the simple fact that Metal Warriors was included made the list much much better for me.. lol

I like Mariokart64's list a lot more... halfway down the list it kind of starts looking like a struggle to come up with games though... :P

This list isn't in order, and some of the games I listed do not have proper number in the series beside them because I didn't want to think too long in making this list off the top of my head. The list creator must not have had a Saturn (Dragon Force and Guardian Heroes should be included imo).

PS2 games are missing such as Ico/SOTC, GOW series, GTA: SA, Beyond Good & Evil, Resident Evil 4, MGS 2/3.

Notable omitted handheld games: Pokemon Red/Blue, LOZ Oracles.

Well, I wouldn't say that it is the fact no one has the balls not to put them on their lists. I would say it's more a matter ofthe fact that theyare great games, andpeople put them on their lists because they feel they are the best. A ton of my favorite all time games are earlier Nintendo. I could easily make a top 100 List with NES, and SNES. Now, 64, GC, and Wii are another story. I might be able to have a top 100 GEN games, but it would be MUCH harder. Any other Sega console other then maybe the Master System (although I would have a hard time picking 25)... forget it. So effectively that leaves NES, SNES, GEN, PS, PS2, and Xbox as the main candidates. Sure, there are some great games on the Saturn, Neo Geo, and Gamecube, but the truly great all time games are few and farin betweenand the game libraries are much smaller on those consoles. Excluding NES, and SNES and still coming up with a top 100 list for me, and probably a lot of others, wouldn't be a true list of the greatest games of all time. So with that being said, if you are tired of seeing Nintendo games on lists how about making a thread asking top 10-100 games excluding Nintendo consoles? That way it gives more room to add in GREAT games that didn't make the cut. There are thousand's of good games, so making a top list of 10-100 is nothing more then personal preference. I you want to see lists that are closer to what common interests are, then maybe trya thread like top 10 Sega Genesis fighting games, or top 10 Xbox racing titles...
