I am a great fan of Max Payne series...Have played MP2 countless times...still not bored of it...the shootdodge stuff is just wonderful...haven't seen anything like that in any game so far...(let me know if anyone knows about any other game having bullet time and shootdodge stuff)

So I would like to ask if there is any hope of MAX PAYNE 3 being launched anywhere in the near future?

ROCKSTAR ROCKS...same as WROXTAR WROX! ;)

Yep. It was recently announced. It will be developed by Rockstar Vancouver instead of Remedy, and will be coming in 2009. Yes, it's scheduled to release this year

I remember the day I saw the announcement. I jumped out of my chair and started to dance.

I am doubtful, but I hope it turns out well. I'm more a fan of Remedy I think than Max Payne, and without those guys making the game, I don't know if will have the same vibe as before. Also, Max Payne 2 wrapped everything up in such a fantastic way that I doubt anybody besides Lake could keep the story going without seeming really forced.

I have low hopes as well. The real key here is going to be the story. I'm sure they'll be able to nail the gritty tone, but it's all for nothing if the story goes off the rails. (character motives cease making sense, etc.) There just aren't may developers out there capable of creating a captivating interactive story. (Remedy, Double Fine, Bioware, Obsidian, Quantic Dream, Funcom... is that it?) I'm not convinced that the new caretakers of the series have put as much emphasis on storytelling as Remedy did and would have.
