1. is a 4 way joystick okay for a fighting game? I want to buy an Arcade Stick but im not sure if 4 way is okay. In street fighter, Sometimes you need to go S, SW, and then W to pull off a move. will i be able to do it with a 4 way joystick?

2. Also, is an 8 way much better?. I'm not a pro player. I'm only gonna play online at home.

3. Can you recomend a good arcade Stick. I seen The street fighter stick but i think it's pretty expansive.

There is no such thing as a 4 way joystick. Even analog ones have at least 8 directions

Then ask on a japanese forum or a forum dedicated to the game you want to play

I'm asking if the 4 way is okay for fighting games or if it has to be 8 way.

You're confusing terms.

I think you're reffering to a square gate, which has only 4 sides (but lets you go to the corners) with an octagonal gate (has a point for all 8 directions.)

PS3 stick.

360 stick.

Sale on newegg.

A 4-way stick is one that has a switch for up, down, left and right. But not for the diagonals. The diagonal directions essentially simulated when two of the prime-directions are activated at the same time. For instance up-right diagonal is activated when the up and right switch are simultaneously active. In contrast some sticks (though not the kind you'd normally see for fighting games) have 8 true prime switches or might even be analogue.
