Are all the Bubsy games really that bad?

The first one had the good fortune of dropping in an era that's now become known as the "mascot wars"- Nintendo had Mario, Sega had Sonic and the next thing you know you had Sprocket and Awesome Possum and Rocky Rodent and Donkey Kong Country, Mr. Nutz, Zero the Kamikazi Squirrel, Saprkster (Rocket Knight Adventurea) and on and on.  That said, the first game was halfway decent, if not remarkable, in comparison to some of the other 2D platformers mentioned.  The sequels just kept getting worse and worse.  I stuck with the franchise until the one they made for Jaguar and it's pretty much unplayable.

I only played Bubsy 3D on the PS1...

...probably the worst game i have ever played in my entire life, i cant think about any other game thats even near being as bad as that thing.
