i ask myself the same question sometimes...the answer is, why not have both? cut down on gaming and gamespot etc and if you leave it a few nights you appreciate what gaming time you have and chances are there will be new info about games you are waiting for...when everyone was hyping gta4 i had to stop coming here for a week as i was glued to the screen everyday just for a slice of info...that is not healthy.
Games are great, but as others said before, you should have balance at playing them. but it is hard, butI've found a way to make that Balance:
Pack your PC, and put it in your warehouse for 3 months or give your PC monitor or PS3 to a friend...it may be hard (ask your friends or parents) in first but good, and really effective, I had done this previews year before that I spend 6/8 after school time playing video games, but after that I just spend enough time for entertaining and it doesn't damage my life anymore.
Everyone is different, not the same, so stop listening to nay-sayers who disagree with you're habits! Enjoy what time you have because tommorow could be the end...jjtiebuckle.... true.
I know I should go to school studying to get a better job, but no. ....I have a sturdy job, everyday when I get off work I'd rather sit in front of my PC or PS3 play games. if not just be on the internet hang out with youguys have fun. Fun and all, but is it really worth it?.... I love games and it seems I never had enough. help me out youguys.Dogswithguns
Ruining my life? I don't really have one so I guess not. I goto work come home play games and goto sleep. I got married so I'm doing ok I guess. lol
There is an addictive aspect to many games that can be harmful to impressionable people. Many game designers specifically study addiction so they can hook more players.
That being said, it is easy to reach a point in life where you are content with your position. If this happens, it's hard to improve yourself.
If you divorce yourself from video games for any extended length of time, you will notice that you'll get a lot more done on a daily basis. Eventually though, video games would probably just be replaced by some other time suck.
