I know I should go to school studying to get a better job, but no. ....I have a sturdy job, everyday when I get off work I'd rather sit in front of my PC or PS3 play games. if not just be on the internet hang out with youguys have fun. Fun and all, but is it really worth it?.... I love games and it seems I never had enough. help me out youguys.

i ask myself the same question sometimes...the answer is, why not have both? cut down on gaming and gamespot etc and if you leave it a few nights you appreciate what gaming time you have and chances are there will be new info about games you are waiting for...when everyone was hyping gta4 i had to stop coming here for a week as i was glued to the screen everyday just for a slice of info...that is not healthy.

Everything has a limit. Just like the others have been saying.

For me, games are totally NOT ruining my life. They are one small part that actually keeps me sane.

i don't think games ruin your life. Unless youre the type of person that spends 20 hours of the day on the game systems and choose your games over your friends, family, and hot girlfriend.

Video games are a form of entertainment. It's the same as listening to music or watching TV. Games don't "ruin our lives" anymore than watching a movie.

If you are having fun what you are doing and getting the bills paid why not? If it's bothering you that much then get off your rear and go to school. Live life the way you want to and not how the "norm" is.

If you like playing game's alot instead of going out side or joining the party norm be proud of it dude. It's good to balance everything in life but it's just not that easy or simple. Just don't change your way's because somebody disagrees with the way you spend your time.

I agree with everything everybody has been saying. I'm only on here when my homework is done and I'm off of school and work. Which today I am. As long as you have all you're responsibilities are taken care of then enjoy yourself. Games are meant to be entertainment so enjoy. And this has been said also but so long has you're not choosing games over friends and family then you're fine.

When they interfere with doing homework, going to work, etc. we will be ruined, but if you can learn to keep them under control then they are fine.

Games are great, but as others said before, you should have balance at playing them. but it is hard, butI've found a way to make that Balance:

Pack your PC, and put it in your warehouse for 3 months or give your PC monitor or PS3 to a friend...it may be hard (ask your friends or parents) in first but good, and really effective, I had done this previews year before that I spend 6/8 after school time playing video games, but after that I just spend enough time for entertaining and it doesn't damage my life anymore.

Are games ruining my life? Hell, my life is ruining my games. I don't have much time to play them and it is torture with all these games coming out at the end of the year. Hopefully, I will have time to just sit and play for 10 hours straight this weekend. Good times.

The only time games ruin a persons life, is when the person themselves puts gaming in front of everything and doesn't take into account the other things that matter.

Balancing is important.

I though the same thing this morning. But if you can manage a career and video games, I don't see a problem. If it stops you from pursueing something you love, then I'd stop play games.

Everyone is different, not the same, so stop listening to nay-sayers who disagree with you're habits! Enjoy what time you have because tommorow could be the end...

There is an addictive aspect to many games that can be harmful to impressionable people. Many game designers specifically study addiction so they can hook more players.

That being said, it is easy to reach a point in life where you are content with your position. If this happens, it's hard to improve yourself.

If you divorce yourself from video games for any extended length of time, you will notice that you'll get a lot more done on a daily basis. Eventually though, video games would probably just be replaced by some other time suck.
