This is just a general Warning to anyone buying an XBOX 360 from Best Buy.

Today I went to exchange my Xbox because it is stalling. After waiting an Hour in Best Buys lovely return line I was told that under the Best Buy Warranty I had two options. I could either Take my Xbox into the Microsoft return center or I could Wait untill my Warranty was over and bring it back to them for the Best buy team to repair it. This confused me, she said I had the choice, but both of my options were to leave the store with a broken Xbox. They would not fix it untill my Warranty was over. When I asked her excatly why Ibought the Warranty from them if they were not going to fix it she just shrugged.

So be advised if you are buying an Xbox 360 from Best Buy, They will not honor the Warranty untill the Warranty term is completed. I would recomend buying an Xbox from a legittimate Video Game retailer.

What exactly were you bringing in the X360 for and how long have you had it? If you've had it for less than one year then MS's warranty is still active for all problems and your Best Buy extended warranty wont kick in until after that expires (its the same with most retailers to my knowledge. hence the reason they're called extended warranties). If you've had it for more than one year though and you got an RROD then they may count MS's extended RROD warranty as a manufacturer's warranty for that problem. However, you would want to check to make sure that you still get the amount of warranty coverage that you're paying for. So if they're not going to honor the extended warranty right now for an RROD then they should honor it for X amount of years after MS's RROD warranty expires. Otherwise they're just trying to get out of having to pay out of their own pockets. But if you brought in your system for a problem other than an RROD (E68 error, disc drive problems, etc) and its been more than one year since you bought your 360 then you need to press this further since that's outright fraud.
