During its first couple of years, the PS2 had terrible quality reading discs, hence DRE. It was so bad that Sony got sued for it. Granted afterwards it did better, the slim was good.. except for the overheating issue.

Nintendo and Sony. Sony makes nice consoles with a wide variety of games, and it's even a DVDplayer as well, which can save you hundreds of dollars. Nintendo makes consoles that aren't bulky or extremely overpriced, and that every kind of gamer can enjoy.

Went with Nintendo. They strike me as innovative, and creative although I'm sure plenty would argue :P But I think the Sony on the other hands, makes such amazing innovations with their graphics. If that sentence even made sense...
