The warriors and Riddick are both great games that could survive even without their parent movies,so that is my choice.

For me, it's probably The Two Towers. It's the only one I can think of that isn't completely mailed in.

not even star wars can match the success of goldeneye 007 the revolution came and went in 1997 ,,

and to day theres been several people wanting updated goldeneye , ,

on wii or xbox live that should just about answer this question i dont know any other franchise that actually follows the movie by scene, like goldeneye or quantum wii , ,

starwars bf2 isnt actaully following a movie plot its based off one theres a big differnce ,

so goldeneye all the way

Well, the TC called for games after a movie's theme, not a representation of the movie. Thus, games from the Star Wars universe, games like The Thing and so forth would be allowed.

And, if I remember correctly, the game GoldenEye is very different from the movie GoldenEye. I didn't see the movie until after several years of playing the game, and I was extremely confused about what was going on in relation to the game for a while.

What are you talking about they took several key scenes and make levels out of them which is how every movie game is done bar the extra levels i.e. Aztec and Egyptian it was very faithful to the movie and anyway how can a game be 100% like a movie you want everything to happen word for word thats just silly

1. That's not my username. 2. I'm not saying it was necessarily a bad thing. 3. The general methodology of movie games is unrelated to what one may want. 4. I was stating this because the poster I quoted said the devs followed GoldenEye by scene. In the movie, I'm pretty sure Mishkin doesn't meet with you. Significant differences. Same with the fate of Grishenko. Pay attention.

Well firstly get over it lots of people make mistakes when quoting.

I never commented on whether you said it was good or bad simply that your view that it was very different is in my opinion incorrect.

I dont care about the rest of that post that wasnt my arguement because i agree the thread is about a movie franchise i.e. a concept like the Star Wars universe which is sold to developers which makes it a franchise if i did not agree I would have quoted it and made a point about it.

All I was saying is that in my opinion your view that it was different to the movie is incorrect it followed each major scene he does meet miskin in the film and as for Grishenkos fate he dies in the film after what is the last level in the game so kinda hard to tie in. The only real inconsistency is Mishkin not dying on the archives so one arguement is hardly enough to say the game was very different from the film.

Though I think it is rare that ANY movie spawns a good direct video game, (and vice versa haha) i will have to agree with the majority and say Goldeneye as well. Although, I think a few honorable mentions would have to go to Aladdin for Sega Genesis, and the new Wolverine Origins! :D

Goldeneye 64! Best game based on a movie! Even the levels are reognizable in the film when you play the game and watch it again. Rare did a great job with that one!
