Best Final Fantasy Games

Okay, so I haven't posted on the boards in forever, and I kinda just thought up a random topic that I was pretty interested in. I'm curious about the opinions of others but I'll go ahead and do my list first. Well, I won't call it a list since it's not really in that format. Let me just go ahead and show you guys what I'm going for here:

Best on NES: FF3, because it was a lot more complex and refined in almost every way than the first two entries in the series.

Best on SNES: FF6, simply for the leaps and bounds it made for the series and JRPGs as a genre.

PSX: FF9, because I'm a sucker for nostalgia, and there was just something about it that hooked me in and wouldn't let go. The other two PSX FF games did the same, just not to the same extent. I don't really know why.

PS2: FF12, because even though 10 was a great game, this represents a huge progression in the right direction for the FF series in a lot of ways. The battle system was great in my opinion, even though I know a lot of people may disagree with me.

Best in the series would be a tie, between 9 and 12, because for me they are the pinnacle of the Final Fantasy experience. Now, that's just what I think. What about you guys?

It's a tie between XII and X. VII got too repetitious for me. The old ones never impressed me. VIII was a bit too constricting. IX was a nice game. X-2 was surprisingly fun. XII had a great story, incredibly fun combat and varied locations and enemies. FFX had an incredible story with some unexpected twists, really fun combat and is one of the best gaming experiences available today. Also, X had great music. FFCC put too much pressure on teamwork, and got stale pretty fast but it's still good fun. FFXII: Revenant Wings surprised me with it's addictive gameplay. FFXI looks like the only FF I wouldn't like. FF: Tactics is probably a good strategy game but I'm not that much in that genre. And as an added bonus, I will add the Kingdom Hearts games: KH is one of my favourite games of all time with fantastic battles, enemies, bosses, music and graphics. KH:CoM is a solid, good game which is good in its own right and now has a remake on PS2. KH2 put together a smoother package, with a great story, graphics and gameplay and is just barely below KH on my list.
