what do you think people?

Honestly cant think of any game Ive played based off of a movie to be good at all, cant even remember the last time I played a game based off of a movie actually come to think of it.
Easily Goldeneye.
It redefined shooters on consoles, had a bevy of content for both single player and multiplayer, and became the model for future James Bond games like Nightfire.

This. Goldeneye gave me and my friends so many good times its like a chapter in all of our lives:D
Power Rangers: The Movie for SNES and Genesis. Such a fun little beat em up game. Fond memories of Cooperative play when I was a young'n.

agreed. Golden eye was that **** and still continues to be that **** finally beat it this year after picking it up and putting it down for years. This year happened to be the year of unlocking 007 mode which i could not put the controller down till i beat.
"MAFIA". I absolutely LOVED that game, an obvious homage to "The Godfather". It counts.
:)

No it doesn't. If we go by that logic, it's easily GTA Vice City, since it's pretty much Scarface
Since everyone is saying Goldeneye 007, Id like to add James Bond Everything or Nothing. During that time James Bond was at its lowest and here came a game that was more exciting than the films themselves. Other games are Aladdin (MD) and Chronicles of Riddick.GulliversTravel
I'm surprised it took this many posts before someone mentioned Riddick. In terms of "modern" games, that was the game that shocked everyone by being pretty darned decent in spite of it being based on a movie since tie-in games are usually crap.
Goldeneye, of course.
The first two Aliens vs Predator games on PC were pretty cool and 2 had great multiplayer. Even the Jaguar AvP game was pretty cool (one of like two good games on that system). Hell, even the Capcom Arcade Beat Em Up AvP game was a blast. Pretty much every AvP game except for the latest installment was actually really fun.
The Lucasarts Indiana Jones "Monkey Island"-style games were pretty cool and had a lot of great humor.
KOTOR 1 and 2.
The old x86 PC Terminator game based on the first movie. You could play as Kyle Reese or the Terminator.

Chronicles of Riddick.GulliversTravelIf expanding the movie(s) universe counts, then I agree but neither of those are actually based on movies. The have completely new stories featuring the same characters. And in that case there would be quite a few Star Wars games I could add.
Oh, and Aladdin for SNES is best! :P

I guess it depends on the rules for expansion. I included KOTOR because Star Wars started out as a movie franchise, later novels notwithstanding. James Bond actually started as a series of books before the movies, on the other hand. Technically Riddick the game is a prequel to the first movie so it's directly related even if the events of the movie and game don't actually overlap.
Very few games are actually directly based on a specific movies compared to the wealth of titles based within the universe of a movie. All the tie in games were mostly arcade games (Tron, Star Wars, T2, etc), about a zillion Pinball games, and crappy titles that developers fart out between when they start filming a movie and when they finish it.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay is pretty good.
Batman Returns is a great little 16-bit beat-em up.
But Spider-Man: The Movie is my personal favorite. The controls for Spidey were spot on, and just made the game an absolute blast to play. And there are so many cool unlockables in that game. Playing as Green Goblin complete with his weaponry and Goblin Glider is still, to this day, my favorite unlockable ever.
Kung-Fu Master (1984) - Based on Wheels on Meals. Also worth noting that the entire brawler genre owes its existence to this game.
Disney's Aladdin (1993) - Based on Aladdin. There were two versions for MD and SNES, but I liked both.
GoldenEye 007 (1997) - Based on GoldenEye. And as we all know, the big daddy of console FPS games.
Aladdin (Genesis)
Escape From Butcher Bay
Pretty much any Star Wars game:
Jedi Knight
Rogue Leader
KoTOR
Republic Commando
Battlefront II
Hm, I guess Star Wars counts doesn't it? Welp, if that's the case:
Dark Forces
Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight
Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Tie Fighter
X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter
Rogue Squadron
Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
KOTOR
Republic Commando
Rebel Assualt II
I'm surprised that hardly anyone has mentioned Spiderman 2. game was a really fun open worlder. Sure it had its flaws, but it was overall really fun, especially if you just wanted to goof around. The way that random missions could pop up at anytime made traveling around the city exciting.
Also, LOTR: Two Towers and Return of the King were pretty fun games. Not perfect, had their flaws, but they were entirely functiona and had mostly fun, if repetitive combat. Could certainly do much worse.

That's the only thing that was fun about it though. The missions just kept repeating, and I didn't care for the story or beating the game. Webslinging was all the console version had going for it. I liked Spiderman 1 and the psp version of Spiderman 2 more, but at the same time, I would never want to play them again.
Yes Spiderman 2 was great aswell. We had it on GC, too bad it got stolen :(I'm surprised that hardly anyone has mentioned Spiderman 2. game was a really fun open worlder. Really? I thought that despite the repeating missions, it was fun. Like, you'd be singing across the rooftops when OH NO! Someone's purse was stolen! It makes you feel like "The Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman." Plus I loved throwing punks off of rooftops. Never got old.

It was fun...initially. After it got old, I had to put the game down. The webslinging, as cool as it was, wasn't enough to keep my interest long term because the rest of the game was so "meh."

Sorry to hear that. I know I played the hell out of the game.

Nothing to be sorry about. It's not like I was expecting more, and 2004 was filled with a bunch of other awesome games :)

Spider-Man: The Movie was a much better game. While the open-world of Spider-Man 2 was fantastic, the actual missions were boring and repetitive as heck.
Batman Returns (SNES) I loved the game so much I killed 2 controllers while playing it  :( I really need to find a copy.
GoldenEye (N64) Now I'm not very fond of FPS but this game is special.
Star Wars games (Multi) There are so many great Star Wars games that I can't name them all.
Do Star Wars games really count? Most of them have their own plots and circumstances that have nothing whatsoever to do with the movies. They just share the same universe.
I stopped short of saying "Jedi Knight 2" because even though it's got Star Wars in the title, it's got nothing whatsoever to do with the movies, other than the setting, The Force and the Storm Troopers.

I remember trying to play Spiderman: The movie a few years back and I got too frustrated with the stealth level where you need to sneak into OzCorp.

You were so close to the end. Which then leads to tons of great unlockables.

God that mission was a b****!! But the best Spider-Man game ever, I used to think it was Spidey 2 but I love the feeling of the first one, whereas the second was amazing aswell, I generally prefer everything about the first one, I don't have a specific reason except for how I feel when I play it :?
