I have to say, the only gameson PS2that wowed me were the following, FFX. not just the cut scenes. some of the vistas and backdrops and scenery were stunning.the battles to the summons. all gorgeous.more so than FF12(IMO).(by the time 12 had arrived, I'd seen HD gaming, not really 12's fault i give you. plus, and i have to say this, 12 is one of the worst games i've ever played. nice graphics, good cut scenes. but any game where you can run around and not push anything but the analogue stick is just terrible. you don't play it. it plays for you)
and i have to mention God of War. the opening lvls as you're running through the burning streets and killing all and sundry, and in the background, that Giant red monster(forget what he's called) is seen being attacked by an army. flaming arrows, catapults and he just keeps going!! real sense of scale with that game.
those are just 2. okami and games like MGS 3 are a given. but those 2 above are my choices.
