Best NES game of all time?

For me its a tie between SMB3 and Mega Man 2. Loved these games so much.

Super Mario 3 of course! along with hudsons adventure island, abadox and bionic commando, street fighter 2010 and im sure there are plenty others i can think of

Definitely mega man 2. Followed closely by duck tales- that game was epic!

Well, if you are the type who likes bare-bones narrative and repetative, primitive gameplay with punishing arcade sensibilites, go for it! Play all those old school NES games. There are worse ways to waste your time I guess, though I can't be bothered to think of any on the spot.

I have a few: Batman the Video Game, Super Mario Brothers 1-3, Duck Tales 1 and 2, Gauntlet 2, Duck Hunt, and Mega Man 2.

The best of the best in my opinion for NES (in no particular order): Destiny of an Emperor, Contra, Punch Out!, RC Pro-Am, Legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, Tecmo Super Bowl, Bionic Commando, Ninja Gaiden, Blades of Steel, Metal Gear, Castlevania, Metroid, Track & Field II, Swords & Serpents, Double Dribble, Magic Johnson's Fast Break, Ikari Warriors... those are the ones I always loved... by the time Super Mario Bros. 3 came out, I was sick to death of Mario.

IMO the best NES game is Guardian Legend

First off; chuckles to the arguers complaining whether or not NES games have value anymore. People don't seem to get that being a gamer is about having FUN with a GAME. Whatever game is fun to the person is the game they play; obviously. People seem to lose sight of that. I for one love the NES, a lot. My favorite title would be a tie between Mega Man 2, SMB3, and Legend of Zelda. They both rocked in different ways; so comparing is difficult.
