well, if youre just starting out, some of the cheap yet good games are what youre probably looking for , I would recommend
Â
Virtua Fighter 2
Sega Rally
Daytona USA
Street Fighter Zero 2
Panzer Dragoon
Exhumed/Powerslave
Virtual On
Winter Heat or Decathlete (2 different games, but more or less the same just with a different setting)
if you have a lightgun and a CRT , you can also get Virtua Cop 1 and 2 (you can play them with a controller or a mouse, but its not as fun obviously)
Â
this is a short list to get you started, once you get those, then you can expand it later if you wish.
Here you go OP:

If you were to ask me, I would say Nights, Sega Rally, and Darius Gaiden are good places to start.
I have not played the PSN/XBL port of Nights.. but if you've played it then I guess there's no need to play it on the Saturn.
There was exactly the same thread a couple of days ago. Each one of these have aged well, and are worth owning. Awesome games and i consider them the cream of the crop of absolute quality.Â
Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story I, II, III (one of the best mecha games ever, and very cheap aswell)
Panzer Dragoon Zwei
Bulk Slash
Virtua Fighter 2
SEGA Rally (the mechanics and car handling have barely ben surpassed, light years ahead of its time)
Nights into Dreams... (if you don't have the PC version)
Panzer Dragoon Saga (jp version infinitely cheaper)
Shinning The Holy Ark
Shinning Force III Scenario 1, 2 and 3
Dragon Force I, II
Magic Knight Rayearth
Albert Odyssey
PowerSlave
Daytona USA CE (jp import)
Winter Heat
Night Striker S
Grid Runner
Astal
Super Tempo
The Legend of Oasis
Saturn Bomberman
Purikura Daisakusen
Guardian Heroes
Keio Flying Squadron 2
Shinobi-X
Dungeon & Dragons Collection
Three Dirty Dwarves
Astra Super Stars
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
Cyberbots
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Assault Suit Leynos 2
Gunbird
Sengoku Blade
Game Tengoku - The Game Paradise
Darius Gaiden
Galactic Attack
Cotton 2
Battle Garegga
Batsugun
Sonic Jam (extra content, easier modes, a lot of charm poured into it)
Virtua Cop 2 (one of the best lightgun games ever to grace a console)
Â

just seems a bit odd to recommend games you don't have, though I suppose you have the games on other systems.[QUOTE="Emerald_Warrior"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] you have Quake and Resident Evil? ha , I see,
We've had this conversation before. I mentioned that growing up I had a PS1, while my best friend across the street had a Saturn. We'd play games at each other's houses all the time. Now, I'm trying to get back a lot of those games that I played at his house that I didn't personally own then.

Before that I had a SNES while he had a Genesis. But in that case, I bought a Genesis not too long after because in the mid-90s they got quite cheap. So because of that, I got the best of both worlds for both generations.

I didn't have a single console until about 99 or so (I think , I can't quite remember) , until then it was mostly all PC (apart from playing a bit of NES and Mega Drive), first a 486 then a Pentium probably influenced my gaming tastes quite a bit.I almost forgot about Resident Evil and Virtua Cop.My favorite Saturn games:

After getting a Sega Master System though, I became a console gamer, until I got a PC around 1997. But I still remained a primarily console gamer after that, until more recent years, gaming more on my PC than I do on consoles (probably due to the widening gap between console and PC tech).
I just got Shining Wisdom and I am having fun with it. Kind of a SNES Zelda clone...
agent2112
that is cool. the game gets very mixed reviews overall. to me any shining game is special though until 1998 and camelot finished they final shining effort with scenario 3 of shining force 3. however shining wisdom is probably the least of them. try to get shining the holy ark or shining force 3 if you have the money and or genesis/sega cd games

I grew up as a kid with master system and megadrive and amiga. it couldn't be any better surly. everyone had either of those 3 as a kid and I also knew 2 who had a nes, so I also played on that. but I hold dearest feelings towards amiga and the 32 bit systems

well the Amiga is a bit different than a DOS PC, I would say that really until the early 90s the Amiga was the better machine for gaming. also the games I played as a child are different, I remember stuff like Commander Keen , Duke Nukem and Jazz Jackrabbit.[QUOTE="bultje112"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] I know the feeling, I only had a PC at the time.Darkman2007

you are younger than me then I guess. I grew up with stuff like pirates!, sherman, turrican, pinball dreams, flashback, monkey island and many more. I also had a pc from 1995 onwards, so I also played duke nukem 3d, aladdin(best version), but it made less impression on me overall than amiga did. when amiga was around, it was the most advanced you could think of. it's like to have owned a ps3 during the 32/n64 bit era.

when I say Duke Nukem , I mean the original platformer games, not the FPS. I really started playing games around 1992 or so.[QUOTE="bultje112"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] well the Amiga is a bit different than a DOS PC, I would say that really until the early 90s the Amiga was the better machine for gaming. also the games I played as a child are different, I remember stuff like Commander Keen , Duke Nukem and Jazz Jackrabbit.Darkman2007
