I have $80 but I either want to buy Mario Kart Wii to play with my friends :D or a 12 month Gold for Xbox Live. (I always buy 12 months so don't tell me to buy a 3 month or whatever) What one would you choose?

It really depends. If you're going to play online a lot on your xbox, then obviously get gold. However if you're not interested in that or simply just want to play Mario Kart more, then get that. I know you said you only buy gold in chunks of 12 months but if you got Mario Kart and felt like you made the wrong choice you could easily save up and get the one month or three or even trade in Mario Kart and use the money to buy XBL.

Well, if you save an extra $10 you can buy both.

It depends on which one you'll use more otherwise. Are you going to play Mario Kart for 12 months? Or are you going to use Xbox Live more frequently?

Halo 4 is likely months away though. So unless you're playing something now, it could be a waste. You could put the money aside and when Halo 4 is released by a new Live card for a whole year of Halo 4 multiplayer afterwards. Of course you might want to play Halo before hand in anticipation, etc etc.

If you get Xbox Live Gold on Amazon, it's only $40. I'm not sure what it is in stores, if it's still $60 or not, or if you shop online at all. Same goes for Mario Kart Wii, which bounces around in prices depending where you get it. Though it is possible to get both for around the $80 range, especially with Amazon's free shipping. Might take a little longer to get to you, but you save some money.

Mario Kart Sounds fun, I personally dont need live because all I play nowadays is skyrim. If your big into COD or Battlefield or something get live instead if not Mario Kart.

I really cannot make up my mind on what I want to buy seeing as I'm on $80 budget, by the way I can only buy at Wal-Mart, it's a gift card. Plus with my planned purchase of Halo 4 I really cannot make up my mind. :(
