Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is extremely overhyped.

Seriously, what is so special about this game?

It is just another shooter...yes, it will probably be one of the most polished ones to date, but it will bring nothing new, nothing original. Even the multiplayer, it brngs nothing new.

This game series is just as overhyped as Halo, same game, same rehash.

Other games should have more hype and even sequels of highly successful games such as Assassins Creed and Bioshock will have sequels that aren't rehashes and will play differently from the original. Bioshock 2 even has multiplayer, which will have more depth than Modern Warfare 2 as well as have storyline behind it, so matches have significance. Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 2, Alan Wake, and some other games will all be much better and more revolutionary games than Modern Warfare 2, just with much less hype.

You know, I agree.

I understand that it's a popular franchise, hell I've owned most of them myself (had the most fun with the original on PC) and it's an enjoyable, easy to pick up game, but it annoys me that it's held up as the holy grail of FPS. It's just a well-polished arcade shooter with little to no depth.

I'm not saying its a bad series in general, I just don't like it.

To me the hype this game gets is a bit much. I am one of those...probobly few who thought that CoD4 sp was nothing special. There some nice touches but overall I had to force myself to pass this very ordinary game. Multiplayer was good but it has nothing on a game like BF2. MW2 will be practically the same game as the previous one with minor adjustments. Things that annoyed people online last time are still in the campaign no doubt will once again be a short one (this i do not mind cause it will probobly be once again very avarage).
