Campers usually sit behind areas with high traffic and kill those who walk by. The idea is that the people walking by won't see you or bee too late to kill you before you can kill them.
ATOMIC, THATS NOT TRUE IN COD4. I PLAY IT AND DO VERY WELL CAMPING SOMETIMES. MOSTLY, DEPENDS ON HOW INTELLIGENT THE PPL ARE AROUND YOU. Most run in on me... i hear them coming, some lob grenades, i evade when i hear that. some shoot thru walls, i prone. even when they do the right thing you can still avoid getting killed if your reflexes or intuition are sharp. im not saying i avoid everything, just do better than you say is possible.
I say a camper is nothing more than a sniper. Lets admit it. If a guy sits in one spot with a sniper rifle and gets alot of kills he's considered a good sniper. If another guy does the same thing, in the same spot, with anything other than a sniping rifle he's considered a noob or a camper. That makes lot of sense. What do we all do at the end of a game or round? We look at our scores and gloat, if it's good. I know I do. So don't be mad cause he found or chose a better way than you to rack up the points. If sniping is an ok method to rack up the points, what does it matter if you're using a M21 or a m16? I camp (snipe) fairly well and use a silenced G3. Some people say, " But snipers change their positions." Not all campers stay in one spot either. I move around too. Don't need sniper training to be clever. All depends on how the people are shifting around on the map and sometimes, who seems capable of taking me out is a factor as to whether I stay or move, too. Sometimes I'll move out because I know they're good and coming back. That's when I find another spot nearby so I can watch them approach where I was and easily take them out.... from the NEW SPOT. (Of course that is, if, they don't see me) Just like a sniper does. When cod5 comes out and you get killed with a Thomson by some guy in a tree are you gonna say he was a sniper or a camper? Think hard.... A sniper is just someone who shoots you from a concealed position, no matter what he shoots you with. And this story ends with me putting Wallace into the wall!!! CLICK...
Spawn camping bunkers in a tank on Crysis is fun :D but only do it for a little while, someone will stuck C4 on you eventually. Luckily on Crysis noone gets too bothered about campers on vehicle maps because VTOLs are too much of a problem, baser**ing absoultely everywhere :roll:
