I know there's tons of games like that which were out for the SNES back in the day, but there's one in particular I remember from my childhood where you and a friend went through vaguely organic-looking levels with spaceships that had little orbiting platforms which helped shoot, and one of the levels had barriers which were tricky as anything to pass. Can anyone think of what game that is? Pretty vague description I know, but I fancy finding it somewhere and being nostalgic.
Don't think so, having checked out some screenshots. However, we're talking 10+ years ago here, my brain has since been addled with alcohol and late nights so I may be mis-remembering.
Are you quite sure it isn't Gradius 3? The levels were very organic looking and upgrades to the ship include energy balls that would circulate your ship and shoot as well.
