Hi, I have a question for those who know the answer:

Can the PS2 read any PS1 game? and if it can, can you save the games on the PS2 memory card?

Yes PS2 can read all PS1 games but you need a PS1 memory card to save the games. PS2 memory cards were meant to save only PS2 games.

the ps2 can read all but 5 ps1 games, and ypu need a ps1 card to save them

Go to the official Sony Website for the list of PS1 games not Compatiable with Playstation 2 or games with glitches/isseues running on PS2. The game "Rascal" does not work on either PS2 at all. Yep you need a old playstation memory card. Supermemory card 1000 will not work with PS2. So always go first party.
