A couple just got officially charged with leaving their 2 infant children near death from malnourishment because they were too busy addicted to D&D online to feed their children.

That is sick, but i doubt it is D&D's fault. Two parents would have to be pretty screwed in the head to let anything come before their children. Some people should never be allowed to breed.

poor kids. if it's not gaming then it would be something else. people truly should not be able to breed unless they intend to dedicate the rest of their lives (or at least 18 years) to their offspring

Of course, it's the parents fault, but just like drugs and gambling (and my god do I love my video games and will say this anyway), MMORPGS are less than wholesome.

It makes you sick when you think about it. I laugh at people who are overly addicted to games like that, but this isnt really a laughing matter is it.

Yes, this is full-fledged addiction. Thing is, it could happen to anyone with manic compulsive tendencies, no matter the compulsion. It's not the game itself, it's the weakness of the mind. We used to have TV addicts, now we have videogame addicts.

Yep. It's not the activity but the person who's playing. A lot of people don't get that. Some people get hooked on video games so people assume that the video games must have some addictive property.

Dude, it would be a little more understandable if you let your kid die while you were raiding Karazhan, but while you were playing D and D Online? That's not even that good!
