Choosing between 2 different PS2 models

If I get one it's either going to be the fat original or the very newest one with the built in power supply that just came out. On one hand, the original has a fan in it so it shouldn't overheat, but if I get a refurb one from a chain store would it likely be so old that it would die on me in no time? Then again, do the newest, slimmest ones with the in-built power supply get really hot? I don't play for ridiculous chunks of time, but I want to be sure I am not buying a fire hazard hehe. Anyway, if a few people could chime in and recommend one model or the other I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

the brand new slims dont over heat at all and they load better

and the slim dont fry from 24+ hours of play

The fat ones are ugly as hell and crap out easily get a slim. I only had a slim for a couple months cause i bought a 60gb ps3 but it never even got super warm.

the newest ones don't get hot at all, i got one after my big old fat one died. works much better than the origional

you got confused with the Xbox 360, it takes like 2 hours before my slim even begins to get hot

the new one is good, i also did not like it at 1st but then it's better plus i truned it on for about 48 hours and still running fine, don't worry about the fan
