Does anyone here remember the old C64, those were the days, fun games, etc

Law of the west, YEAH! That game was great, and offered a sort of primitive non-linear gameplay.Of course! The C64 started it all for me. It was actually my brother's, he had shoeboxes full of floppies. Forbidden Forest, Law of the West, High Noon, and of course Farmer's Daughter!!!

Right you are. The greatest text adventure ever. I did a brief review of it here.

Forgive me for reviving such an old topic, but yes, I loved this system and it started gaming for me. I recommend Forbidden Forest, Summer Games, Gateway, Save New York, Roc N Wrestle, Friday the 13th, Henry's House and Impossible Mission. Here are 100 games in 10 minutes that show some of the finest C64 games ever to come out.
I like your list! those games rocked.Yes, I liked several C64 games like Ghostbusters, Archon 1-2, Seven Cities of Gold, Impossible Mission, Jumpman, Jumpman Junior, Lode Runner, Karateka, Blue Max, Bounder Dash, Spy vs Spy 1-3, Summer Games 1-2, Winter Games, California Games, Skate or Die, others, I forgot.

the ZX spectrum had a much better game than that... just youtube: ZX Spectrum Paradise Cafe
There's really only a few games I played on Commodore 64. But I played the heck out of them:
The Swiss Family Robinson was the first game I played that you'd play over and over again just to figure what to do and where to go next to further the story, rather than to rack up points. It drew me in for months. Back then there was no internets guides, walkthroughs, or strategy guides. It took a lot longer to figure out puzzles and secrets, especially since there was no such thing as overused secrets or clues back then. The only help you'd get were tips from any friends who were playing the same game. But most of the time, especially in that game, it was a process of trial-and-error. I played Old Oregon Trail a lot in school, as that was basically the only game you were allowed to play.
Oh and the load times were excruciating. That little 1541 Disk Drive would whire and click for like 5 minutes before you'd see the title screen, then wait for some more loading. People like to give the Neo Geo CD crap for it's load times, but it has nothing on the Commodore 64.
Yeah, I still have mine! Still works 8)
My favourite games were:
Aztec
Impossible Mission
Hunchback
Spy Hunter
Chilly Willy
Jungle
These games were and still are awesome.
I remember going across town to buy a used C-64 from some fellow and getting a bunch of games, one of them being Pirates! I remember looking a the graphics on the back of the Pirates! box thinking the graphics looked amazing. The game didn't disappoint and while my C-64 has moved on, I still have that Pirates! game, map and all.
Another favourite game was Airborne Ranger. My friend who came to Canada from England gave me his cassette version - it took forever to load but what a great game - that's another old game that I've managed to keep over the years.
One of my favourite strategy games, then and even now, is Theatre Europe - bonus points to anyone who can still remember the nuclear launch code...
