Almost every console/handheld ever made comes with some form of little easter egg(s) that have no purpose other than to be discovered and then be slightly amused by, and then forget about and move on in life. Post some! It can be anything about any console that's generally not known by the public. Gamecube - Hold "Z" while powering up the system and you'll hear a different sound effect on the intro screen.

Well there is the snail game for the master system that was built in you could access it by holding down one of the buttons and doing something with the d pad. Im pretty sure a lot of people know about this already but it is neat.

So, is there a question? Like, do we think that's cool? Or, what other systems do this? Just curious. :P

IIRC the Sega Saturn had date-enabled jokes.

The greatest secret to being happy is watching a sibling rage over a dead 360. I couldn't help but laugh at him as if I had some part in its failure.

i remember hitting reset on Madden 95 (like during startup before it said sega) on my genesis and it would show the date the game was produced. and with the 32X attached i could move the cables in a way that would make the polygons disapear in games like Virtua Racing.

not sure of any other console secrets.

And the worst secret is that you found out that when his Xbox is gone, you are forced to share

Great question...... What about all the expansions slots on every single console(current gen not include-thats another discussion) that are never used. The Genesis made the best use of' them but critics just smashed on the Genesis add-ons. Since the Gen. I've never kept up with add-ons since then but I still try and get them online recently, currently I want a VGA cable and serial for DC.

A little secret about the ps2 that i'm sure most people already know: the number of cubes that appear when you boot it up depends on the number of saves you have on your memory card.

Wasn't there something else with the PS2 about the flying orbs on the "dashboard" screen that increased with how much you used the console?
