question what do you think the cost of a new game should be as new call of duty is set to be £55 for basic edition and others £40 what do you think the true value of games should be.

Reflected by sales on sites like amazon and ebay. I would be saying the true price of new games would be 40-50.
Wrong, the true price is whatever the hell they want to sell it for. It only costs a couple of dollars to produce the hardcopy and package, but then that doesn't include the millions it took to develop and market the game.Reflected by sales on sites like amazon and ebay. Wrong, the true price is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Companies could charge $150 but if no one is willing to pay it, it is not worth that much. basic economics.
Money talks, what are you saying?
I think $50 is ok. Thats the way its always been. I mean I guess it still makes the companies enough profit that they havent needed to change it...although most new 360/PS3 games are $60 which is ok I suppose but I have feeling they don't really need that extra 10 bucks. Plus they charge for all the extra DLC for big name titles like Halo, Gears and GTA.
Lately Ive been waiting for price cuts. Which is really nice cause some games that were $50/60 at release are now $30-$40. Some even $20 and theyre still brand new. Even nicer is some come with all the bonus included like Gears of War 2 GotY edition. I still gotta get me that.
50-60 dollars is the norm but I refuse to buy any game that is higher than 20 bucks. I usually won't even buy a game if its higher than 10.
