Isn't your avatar from Stallone's Cobra? Why are you talking about good acting and dialog? :P

IndianaPwns39

While it is a hilariously entertaining movie, Cobra isn't a good showcase of those elements, obviously. And I guess you haven't seen Rocky or Cop Land if you're suggesting Stallone can't act.

Plus, Cobra uses scissors to cut his pizza, like a real man.

Not suggesting Stallone can't act, I just loved that movie for how bad it was kind of like Arnold's Commando.

No, you're right. Both are awful, yet glorious.

Love the three (and Bayonetta) but as a complete package GoW wins. GoW>DMC>>NG

GoW and DMC are pretty close though. DMC doesnt only win because of the terrible DMC2 and the mediocre DMC4. GoW games are all amazing, even Chains of Olympus is good

Kratos on the other hand is an ass through and through. He kills anyone and anything even if he has no good reason to. I have no idea how he had a wife and kid nor will I understand how anyone could like him as a character.

Swift_Boss_A

I love Kratos and when GOW first arrived on the scene I found the character to be a refreshing change, I don't see why every character needs to good and lovable. And as far as Im concerned Kratos has reasons and is not completely heartless, essentially the lesser of two evil. Not to mention he was brought up by Spartans which must not be easy, got tricked by Ares into killing his own family and betrayed by Zeus. I say such things definitely warrants all the killing he does, though not all of it. Anyway GOWA is meant to add more humanity to the character so I'm excited to see how that plays out.

agree. I'm tired of generic "lets save the world" characters. Kratos was mostly bad and selfish and thats what made him more interesting to me as a character... more human. Even though I like Dante in DMC games I cant help but feel I would hate him if he was a real person. Too douchey and cheesy for me likes

Well if Kratos was a real person I would take a rocket to mars lol. I like him because his so far removed from reality.

God of War is an alright game, I just hate how simplistic and boring combat is. But I do like how Kratos is a badazz.

DMC has good combat, but I hate how ridiculous the main character is. I hope he drops his lame punchlines in this new one. If he does that, then I'll prolly buy it.

Ninja Gaiden was a good game. I liked the first one but never got around to play the second one. Might not because I hear the 3rd is terrible.

The best action adventure game I played was Lords of Shadow tho. Looking forward to #2.

I've never played Ninja Gaiden, so I can't speak to it's quality, but of the other two God of War is probably the better overall series. Looking purely at gameplay, the GoW games are all well above average for their genre, if not stellar. They're consistent where DMC is a case of peaks and valleys. The first is almost perfect, the second is awful, the third is...decent (really outside of it's wonderful combo system, 3 is kind of bland), and the fourth hovers somewhere between 2 and 3. So it's a matter of always fun, but never the best vs. navigating through garbage to get to moments of genius. Looking at presentation and story, it's again pretty hard to argue against GoW. The story makes sense from game to game, it's well told, and basically follows a straight line with only a couple of diverging paths. Compare this to DMC which follows a path for two games, then has a prequel, then a sequel to the prequel, then a reboot that may be a prequel to the prequel or completely unrelated to the rest of the series. All of a sudden the simplicity of "Kratos wants revenge" doesn't seem so bad. Another thing that might be worth mentioning is that it's a heck of a lot easier to be a fan of God of War compared to Devil May Cry because you're never hurting for content. DMC5 is slated for 2013 (right?). That amounts to five games in about twelve years. GoW has done the same in literally half the time. Sony's been churing out good product extremely quickly whereas the only thing to tide DMC fans over between titles has been the atrocious anime series.

Interesting. I felt that the introduction of a little girl sidekick, the diminished roles for Lady and Trish, and the baffling lack of series proper villains and worst of all, no Devil Trigger (!) held the show back considerably. Granted, I may be judging the show based more on what it lacked than what it had. But when what it lacked was everything from the franchise except Dante it's hard not to.

well, DMC was about Dante. But then again, when I say it was "faithfull" to the series I'm talking about the overall feeling of the demon hunting jobs and the gothic feeling the series had resembling other gothic anime series (wich I'm sure DMC games were inspired by) like Night Walker, Hellsing or Night Stalkers. Just my 2 cents but I honestly liked DMC anime and dont get why it receives so much hate (I'm also a DMC games fan btw)

GoW series is the better series of the three.
