midnight club: la. the ai is insanely difficult, i keep losing races to cheap things like hitting oncoming traffic with a thirty second lead right in front the finish line and losing because you don't respawn until the car comes to a complete stop so i you use a bike, your guy can go flying for a full 8 seconds before spawning and then the ai cheats by getting a boost and miraculously defeating you. also, the ai personalities are all complete jerks even if you are winning, they make you feel like its only cuz they want you too. i played the game for a full two days before ejecting it and made it my new 20 buck frisbee. i have never screamed at a game before midnight club: la. cried? yes, but i was five and pokemon elite four were near impossible.

Final Fantasy where you didnt save and your game would freeze lose a fight like hours ahead of where u saved last -.-Everwhaa
I think this pretty much goes for any RPG. It's my favorite genre, and I do love old school RPGs...but the save systems often were very terrible.

so, I was playing 3D Dot Game Heroes, and I'm just about to go to the boss at the end of the second temple AND BAM freeze.

Do you? and how often? what games?

I'm going to go attempt to re-do the second temple.....

NukaNuked

I've rage quit a few. The weird thing is there are games I have hated that I plowed through just to beat them like RE4 and games like Defense Grid that I rage quit over one level and never played again even though it was a solid game.

Yeah I played final fantasy online when it first came out and got a monk to like 30. In that game you had to get these things called Linkpearls to create your own chat channel / guild and you split linkshells off the linkpearl that you gave to people so they could join the chat.

Now take into consideration in that game you weren't allowed to select your server they did it for you. I don't know if its like that now, but if you wanted to get your friends to join your server you had to buy an in game item to allow them to come to yours. I was totally new had almost no money spent all of mine on these items to get them to my server.

I made the mistake of making one of my friends, girlfriend an officer of the chat...

She turned out to be a raging chat nazi constantly telling people what they could or couldn't say and tried to take it over. People complained to me but I didn't say much because I didn't want to bug my friend until she tried to correct me in what I said.

I informed her that I bought the linkpearl, it was my chat/guild and she didn't dictate to me what was said. I told her if she wanted to tell people what to do go make her own. This prompted the hissy of all hissy fits. I don't think she was ever put in her place like that before because my buddy was pretty much almost crying asking me to put her back as an officer.

I ended up just quitting and told him to get another girlfriend. Never heard from them since :P

I avoid it in multiplayer games because it hurts the group. But I have quit after frustrating sequences in single player games.

What do you define as rage quit. While playing Joe Danger I quit a couple times because of frustaration because I played the same level 500 times in a row and still couldn't get one of the stars. Did I get really angry or anything, no. I just quietly put down my controller, turned off my TV and PS3, and walked away. In multiplayer I have done it a few times in certain games. I get more frustarated in some games over stupidity compared to others. I hate Call of Duty because I find there's a lot of stupidity in it and it really gets to me. If I'm having a bad night, butI feel like all my deaths are fair, I'm fine. But the moment I get killed by a dumb moment for the first time, it's just down hill from there. HoweverI can withstand a lot of stupidity in games like Halo where I never feel like I'm getting killed in a dumb matter, so if other people are doing stupid things it rarely effects me.

Mostly in MW2. If I'm doing bad I just quit and find another match. But KZ3, UC2, I just duke it out and end up getting a even record in that match. I use to quit a lot in Sports games, Madden, NBA 2k. But I don't like seeing my DNF% past 10%. If I'm getting owned online in sports or fighting games, I just quit and let them finish the match. Haha

meh i never rage quit. seems kinda pointless getting mad at a video game just cuz you don't get your way on it or you can't beat it lol. well that and plus i'm an extremely patient guy and hardly anything ever gets me mad (which is the main reason why trolls HATE me) XDXD

How do you ragequit on Mafia 2? I beat that game on the Hardest level and I don't remember getting frustrated at any point of the game. Haha

Yep, I've rage quitted on quite a bit of games, I also almost rage quitted on the God of War Challenges when I was on the last one, but I didn't really want to have to do everything over again so that is the only reason why I didn't do it. Almost broke a controller though.

Speaking of 3D Dot Game Heroes...

I rage-quit after an hour of trying to do the second Dash Circuit course.

Yeah.

Ocarina of Time. In the Water Temple, saved about once or twice the whole time, shortly before I enter the boss-room, my cat steps on the system. Game crashes.

When I play any game on online. So many times people use cheap tactics that it pisses me off. That's why I mostly stick to Single player nowadays except for the occasional game of Left 4 Dead 2 or Team Fortress 2.

I'll give one example: NBA 2k11. It seems as though anyone who chooses the Bulls in the game are using some cheats. They block nearly every shot when you drive in and they seem to know every play that I'm going to use. As soon as I see someone choosing Bulls when I play a ranked match, I quit out of the matchmaker.

Only when I was little.. oh and when I was playing Star Ocean: The Last Hope, but that's mostly because of the main character. Holy crap what a whiny little **** I'd be so happy if I could just reach through the screen and punch him in the groin. Other than that I see no reason. If you get angry when playing you're taking the game way too seriously. I play for fun.

Almost everyday, either dying on mass effect after getting so far and not being able to save it in the middle of a fire fight or dying before a checkpoint on call of duty then having to rpeat the same battle over and over again or cheating campers on multiplayer.

If you call your self a gamer, you are all to familure with rage quiting. It happens all the time. You get screwed over enough times, or die unfairly, and are beaten to quick and cheaply. More than likely your controller is going across the room.

I try not to do that, but sometimes........errrrrr! It happens even with games I enjoy, and/or love. Its just a common part of being a gamer.
