Do you finish a game and move to the next one or rotate from one to another?

For me I only move to the next game once the game I have started is completed as it is hard for me to put the game down and say lets just go and play this for a change and get back to this one.

I recall finishing the game story of MGSV but some missions (Subsistence & Extream) I haven't completed and couldn't go to the next game unless I did so. Now after doing that I started to play my next game which is Assassin's Creed Unity and I was like this will take a lot of time lol.

what about you?

I rotate. I play a bunch of games at once, so rotating what I play is the only way I ever even finish them.

I rotate often. Rarely I'm so into a game I don't play anything else until it's finished. It happens, but rarely.

I finish a game and move on. I might have a bunch of different ones lined up, but I tackle them one at a time.

I generally like to finish a game before I move on... I can't jump around from game to game (especially story-focused campaigns).

I could never be like my cousin who jumps between 10 different games and never ends up finishing anything. What a shit way to play games!

Exactly the same. I got maybe a dozen titles installed. Some of them i will finish, some i play while the mechanics still have novelty elements. Some i play only multiplayer and others i go back to two or three times a year. These will usually remain installed long-term. (Xcom, Mount & Blade etc.)

I usually only play one game at a time; maybe others if the main one I'm playing takes a lot of focus and I just want to play a simple shmup or hack n slash.

The worst was trying to play Dark Souls III and The Witcher 3 at the same time. The controls are very similar but different enough that it really screwed up my performance in both games. I ended up deciding to wait until the second DS3 DLC before doing my second playthrough.

Usually I have about 4 games in my rotation. One (sometimes two) will be a single-player affair such as an adventure game or rpg, and the rest will be more arcade, like fighting or racing games.

Sometimes I'll stick with one game from start to end and sometimes I'll bounce around between multiple games.

I like games to last a time for me so I play several games at a time so it may take me months to finish a game. Once finished I may play them again in the future in different difficulty or I may have skipped something.

If it's a new game, I stick with it but I'll occasionally rotate and play some of my older favorites.

I keep jumping back to last years Dark Souls III and D00M despite buying them, and playing them at release. I think that's a good example for this question.

If I really enjoy a game fully, and has great replay-ability, I'll always has reason to return. And to me they are the best kind of games.

The ones I throw to the side after a playthough, it's a sign of not being satisfied.

Recently I have been playing Fallout Series and Skyrim for the first time. I have noticed I need to break away from these types of games to refuel my love for them. Burning out is a huge thing with me so I need to rotate smaller, bit size games like Gravity Rush or Resident Evil 7. It really helps to maintain that fire.

I usually play one or two games tops at a time. If I start playing a lot of games at once I'll never finish any of them.

I normally have two single player games on the go. One for the x1 and one for the ps4. And two or three multiplayer games in rotation.

I like to finish a game before moving on, but lately I've just been dabbling in several not so good games.

I've got serious problems because I generally go 110% into a game and, even if I like/love it, I have a tough time finishing it because I get tired of it and try the next game I am interested in and repeat the process.

Then I say "Maybe I will try that old game out I've meant to finish" but then I get into it, and I forgot to play and I'm 80% of the way through so it's tough to come back to it and I quit lol.

I've got like 20 games installed I need to finish, or spend more time with.

Hell, Battlefield 1 came out and I probably spent 20 hours in the first few days (that's a lot for me, by the way) but then I did not touch it until a few days ago! It's so much fun I don't know why I did not lol.

The problems of disposable income...

i've got that many unfinished games on my shelf and in my steam library that i'm starting to think i've developed some kind of gaming specific ADHD. i could probably count on one hand the amount of games i've actually finished in the past year. i think i have a problem

I used to play several games at once, but I found out that a lot of games would end up being on permanent backburner. Now, I just focus on one game at a time.

Finish a game I've started (platinum it if possible) then move on to another, I find myself lose interest if I start more than one game and jump between them.

Interesting to see what everyone else does. For me it just depends. If I am really into a game then I will finish it, and if not, I may play it for a little and come back later. For the most part though I tend to finish out a game before starting a new one. If I am really into a game I will go as far as starting over in an attempt to achieve all the "goals" or obtain all the "trophies" or "achievements", especially the games I purchase on Steam.

I usually have a few games on the go. But theres always a time when i come across a really addictive game and end up playing it exclusively until i'm either done or bored of it.

I have around 15-20 games on the go right now, it seems like a lot but i just jump from one to another whenever i feel the urge to get back into one of them.

I tend to only play one campaign game at a time unless the second game is something totally different and I really want to play it. I have my regular shooters, racing, and sports games that I play all the time regardless if I am playing through a campaign or not.

When I was a teenager a couple of years back I used to rotate all the time. Could barely stay on one game for one gaming session. Hell, I went to the midnight launch of GT5 and ended up playing FF13 after a few hours,. But now I just can't. Unless it's Witcher 3 length, it's the only game I play until it's done.

Generally I find it's easier to play one at time - otherwise remembering everything gets a bit confusing.

Same with books.

But no-brainer games like sport/fighting, for instance, are maybe the exception.

I rotate them. Games are rarely changing things in how the gameplay works, so it is become kinda boring to play the same game again and again, even if the game is great.

Right now I rotate between: Senran Kagura Estival Versus, Witcher 3, FF15 and Uncharted 4. I rarely finish games by this way of playing, but I play more time than ever before so it is worth it.

Unless the games heaps good i usually get bored and play something else that i stopped playing ages ago.

Games currently halfway through:

Mgs5

Deus ex MD

Fallout 4

Dishonored 2

Just cause 3

Shadow of mordor

Final Fantasy 15

Nothing keeps me engaged any more. I'm a seasoned gamer and guess ive seen and done it all so I'm harder to please.

It really depends on the games really. Some games can keep me playing for 110 hours (cough...Witcher 3), while others I would rather play in short bursts. I like to think that once I start playing something that I typically just play that game until completion, but from time to time I play what I call a filler game to prevent me from burning out on these long adventures. This helps an aging gamer from forgetting how the controls work for the most part.
