The only backlog I see is when I get off the toilet.

If I did that I would have a lot of money. Sadly, with all those crazy sales on PC that's impossible.

I play one game at a time and play it till I finish it unless it's something I loose interest in. I buy tons of game and in the meantime I just add them to my back log. I don't buy games new I wait till their dirt cheap. Buying games new is a waste of money when in 6 months their half price. I have enough games to keep me occupied until price drops. I also wait for game of the year or complete editions with all the DLC.DLC is another reason I no longer buy games day 1. If they can't include the entire game when it comes out I can't justify paying full price.

Ever since I got a job Ive un-noticeably created a backlog that keeps getting bigger and bigger, but yes I try to finish at least a few games before I buy a new one.

The_Last_Ride

Same here:P. I also tend to buy older games

Same here as well, been building my SNES and GameCube libraries lately.

I don't like to waste money, so 98% of the time I usually finish what I'm playing before I'll purchase or rent anything. Once in a while that rule is broken.

I am not so good at doing this, anyone else buy games before they are finished with their backlog? Or do you guys finish them?

The_Last_Ride

I am the type that gets distracted with "new". I'd have to say my friends don't help any because they'll play the new game and get me to play. I do have an on-going list of the games I want to finish though.

I used to be able to finish just about every game, but then came college, a job, and a girlfriend lol. They're all good things, don't get me wrong, but they can use up a lot of game time. I made myself crush Dead Space 3 awhile back and just this week Bioshock Infinite because my brother said the ending was ultimate (it was!). But I looked forward to Tomb Raider and DMC for a long time and probably only have a few hours in each. I can't help myself messing around in some multiplayer on a free day. Next thing I know I'm stuck buying a new game lol. Luckily summer is looking open for some gaming because not many new titles are coming out, so I'll get a lot done then

Nice topic TC

I have no backlog (because I have no friends).Lulekani
lol what? backlog has to do with games...not gaming friends

I'm currently playing through a huge back log of about 70+ games at the moment before the new consoles are out, but I'm averaging around 4 games a month. :(

NexApex
along the lines of this guy except that i have almost a 200 game backlog. im a collector so i cant help buy games and file them away for a time. i hate missing out on a game. in years past, i really wouldnt finish everything, but im finishing more now than i ever had thanks to backloggery.com

That would be the intelligent and sensible thing to do. It's a shame I'm not that intelligent or sensible. :(

Developers need to stop making good games. It's getting hard to keep track.

I only have about three games I haven't finished yet, I'm pretty OCD when it comes to beating my games.  I always just focus on beating one game at a time.

On an aside. It is awesome to go back to a game sitting on your shelf after months (or even years) of it being unplayed. It might have just been an impulse purchase that for some reason you couldn't get into it. You try it again and then find yourself unable to stop playing. That happened to me with Super Mario Sunshine. I am not sure why but I dropped it after a day or two and didn't play it for over two years. I then started it again and lost an entire week to it.

I only have a few titles in my backlog.

Resistance 2 (Started)
Darksiders (Started)
Darksiders 2
Dead Rising 2 (Started)
L.A. Noire (Started)
Just Cause 2 (Started)
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction (Started)
Fable 3
Crackdown 2 (Started)

Most of these games just never held my attention long enough for me to finish. I certainly will finish them eventually though.

Not recently, no, but that's likely to change since I don't see many new games coming out that I want.  I may actually have time to put a good dent in my backlog.
