do you give chances to games which are considered flop in the market?

If by flop you mean sells poorly than yeah I am always willing to try those games out if it interests me already. If by flop you mean low average reviewer score(6.0 or less area) than I usually stay away.

then again though i have played many games, including plenty of arcades, so atleast some of them may have been flop ones, espcially 8 and 16 bit ones.

If you mean ones which flopped in sales, then yes I'm willing to give them a go. Sales figures mean nothing to me.

If you mean ones which were critically panned, then no I tend to not bother.

Well I greatly interested in Mirrors Edge during its development. And even though it didn't do to well with sales and reviewers, I enjoyed it.

I basically will try any game that I can find for a decent price. Such as the 12 new Xbox games for $38 I got yesterday. A lot of the games I have purchased in the past haven't gotten great reviews, but I've heard they were fun, and that's what matters to me. Advent Rising got a 5.7 score here on GameSpot, and it's probably one of my favorite games.

Of course. If it's good and I'm interested I'll buy it. Not buying it because it didn't sell well would be silly.

If 1,000,000 people buy a game, does it mean it's any good? Same goes with ratings.. all personal preference and my answer is Yes, I do enjoy "flops."

Popularity and critical acclaim play almost no role in games that interst me. I mean I'll take notice if a game scores a lot higher than I anticipated but then again I won't just run out and buy any game that scores a 10 either.

For me it depends on what type of game it is. If it's a strategy game, I'll give it a try, but if it were a sports game, probably not.

Flop in the market... does that mean it didn't sell that well? I've played alot of games like that. Most of the games that i'm hyped for review pretty well. The lowest scored game that I loved was Lost Odyssey and it's a 78 on metacritic, which is a tragedy imo. That game caught alot of hate for no real reason what so ever.

These days, with reviews and online multiplayer and other expenses that take priority over video games, I use a lot of discretion when choosing which games I will buy. But back in the day, circa the early 90's, I was willing to play whatever my dad and my brother and I found at garage sales or Goodwill, and we really enjoyed most of them. So I would say yes, although I won't throw down money for just any game now.

Why should I care how well a game sells? That's like dismissing music as poor simply because it isn't platinum. By that logic, I should be a massive fan of Miley Cyrus.

If you mean games that didn't sell well then yes, all the time. If you mean games with poor reviews, then very very rarely.

A) It didn't have 'final fantasy' in the title. B) It wasn't on a Playstation system.

Yep, I do give 'bad' games a chance.

If the game is still at a full price I will try to get my hands on a demo first obviously though, and in any case check some gameplay video's on Youtube.

C) Like the rest of Mistwalker's games, the graphics were HD, but the game design was a throwback (getting ambushed by 100 foot tall giants when walking through an open field) and it was lacking in polish in other areas (one that springs to mind is the fact that characters go into idle animations during battles unless they are carrying out an action, even if they are being charged by an enemy).

Yes, if I've tried it at a friends house (very rarely) or a friend I trust on here with similar tastes strongly recomends it.

I read that and it's like a list of stuff that has zero effect on the gameplay or quality of the story, which to me were as good as if not better than some of my favorite JRPGs. Not to go off topic, but the Dreams/Memories thing is probably some the best writing in any game ever and that wasn't even the bulk of the game.

Those are just minor gripes overall. The game is good and the point I was making is if it was on PS3 it would have received much more attention from old PlayStation JRPG fans but because it was on 360 instead they went into damage control mode over it.

Also a large majority of 360 fans are not into JRPGs so they overlooked the game. It's a shame because it's a great traditional JRPG.

*Shrugs* I'll take your word on the story, but random battles are poor game designs that just shouldn't be happening this generation.

The point about animation is a small one, but telling.

In terms of boldness of gameplay/game design Persona 3 and 4 and FF12 vastly outshine current genjrpgs and that's just sad. Mistwalker is made up of some of the greatest jrpg makers in the industry, but all they've released thus far is backwards looking games with shiny graphics that slavishly cling to some of the outdated conventions some of its members had cast aside in the past.

I tend to try and keep my interest broad, I like Onechanbara for example, may not be all that good, but once you put aside your disbelief and don't judge the game, it turns out to be not too bad with a fair challenge.

I'm also fond of Koei games, and they take a lot of grief. Aye many of their games are somewhat stale, but where a big name title would be over after barely a day, or even a quarter of a day, or less, a Koei game will still be unfinished and played months later due to the challenge.
I like to have varity and an open mind when it comes to gaming, instead of sticking to one genre - FPS for example. If I stuck to one genre, I would be missing out on a lot of games that could very well be well worth playing.

I've gotten games that didn't sell well at launch and enjoyed them, such as-Too Human, Viking:Battle for Asgard, Bionic Commando (the new one), and GTA:ChinaTown Wars. None of those games were considered a commercial success, even though ChinaTown Wars is freakin awesome!

*Shrugs* A game failing commercially doesn't impact my purchasing decisions. Hardly anybody bought Ico (40K sales first month IIRC) but I loved it. The same could be said for the likes of Carnage Heart (building and programming mechs isn't for everyone, but I spent months playing it and replaying it), Valkyria Chronicles, Ring of Red and Shadow Hearts 2 (SH3 is a game which is distinctly smaller than its predecessor, so I can only assume that SH2 disappointed at retail).
