very rarely like right now i am playing tales of phantasia gba version when not playing ps2 on tv. this is almost out of no choice, i would rather finish unfinished games rather then play finished ones. i am not into challenges and completion either.

but ofcourse the action or sport games can be a exception.

It depends on whether they're the kind of game that's meant to be replayed. Not many video games are. I keep playing chess, after finishing it several times, but that's not a video game.

Yes, and i consider to be the biggest problem i have. Once i beat a game, if i liked so much that i kept it for my personal collection (i tend to sell games that i dont particularly liked a lot) i will re-play it over and over again. I have limited time for games as well, so re-playing games over and over, does not allow me to play newer ones. I consider this to be the biggest flaw i have as a gamer.

p.s. And the games i re-play are single player so one would consider that i go through the same story over and over again...but what can i do? I enjoy re-playing games...

I rarely do it, but some games have good replay value. Sometimes I play it again for nostalgia's sake.

Depends on the game, some games I probably will never go back and replay after I beat it. Some games are easy to come back to

If it's a sandbox game - yes. Otherwise I don't replay it unless it's Call of Duty.

Yes, I do.

Take The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for PS3 as a example. I beat that game months ago and now I feel the itch. I deleted my save files and now I'll start a new and better file.

yeah...sometimes i play through games with self-imposed challenges and such (like beating the original contra using only the rifle wiithout losing a life)

nowadays, i rarely play games once i finished it outside of collecting any misc. achievements i may have missed.

Depends on the game. I did for Jak II. I beat Ninja Gaiden Black, then did mission mode. I did not go back and complete very hard and Master Ninja mode. So, I guess I didn't finish that one.

I remembered now that the last year I started playing again the first Golden Sun because I remembered I loved that game. I got bored pretty quickly, but it was because I already cleared it and I still remebered everything.

It's a VERY rare thing that I keep playing a game that I've already finished, even if I really loved it. I would rather spend my time on a new game.

Depends. If it's an RPG, then, most likely, yes. It really depends on the game, but I usually play through most games at least twice.

Not at all. After I finished a game, there is no longer the "surprise factor" so I move on to the next game.

I actually don't, sad as it may be. I recently finished god of war. Haven't touched it since. Neither uncharted 2, or batman Arkam asylum. Hell, I even finished Mass effect 2 after 28 hours and didn't even bother to do the other side-quests.

Technically, this makes you a better gamer than most. Cheers.

My favorite genre is side-scrolling (preferably vertically-scrolling) arcade shoot-em-ups. Obscene amounts of bullets to dodge, and a number-crunching scoring system to take full advantage of. When playing for one credit ("continues" are for wimplos), it's the greatest adrenaline rush ever. (for a masochist such as myself, anyway.) This is the ultimate definition of replay value, in my eyes. Even if it's just to outdo your personal best high score. The games themselves are generally less than an hour in length but I've put over 100 into several of them through thousands of single-credit runs.

Also, short-but-sweet games like Zone of the Enders 2, Sin & Punishment, Panzer Dragoon, and Vanquish are fun to replay, with a focus on nonstop action and some very unique set-piece battles.

I do go back and re-play games that I love, and more often than not I end up enjoying them better the second time around. Some games I re-play many times.

threre are some exceptions like fighters and shooter multiplayer,..

but besides those...

I replay games that have excellent pacing - feels like something fresh is always happening and no segment drags on too long, also any game that has frustrating difficulty I tend not to replay

I do so much research into the games I get that it's rare that I don't like them. So I've replayed nearly every game I own several times. Of course, most of the games I play are adventure games, so that's pretty easy to do. More often than not, I'll find there are things I didn't see and I feel more accomplished by seeing them. xD

Sometimes, if the second play through gives enough content for a different experience, like playing the paragon/renegade of Mass Effect 2, or playing through Diablo II with a different character class.

I usually do it at least 3 times with an RPG, and mostly just 2 with games from other genres that I liked
