The amount of kids ITT who don't know the meaning of the phrase "replay value" is saddening. :( True gamers are indeed a dying breed...
Or...they are grown adults who know that time is money and would rather use what little time they have to play new experiences. So I guess, even though some of these grown adults have been playing video games since the Atari era, they are not considered true gamers? The amount of kids ITT who don't know the meaning of the phrase "replay value" is saddening. :( True gamers are indeed a dying breed...

And technically, by your own logic, we adults should be saving our money for important things. Bills and the like. Even if you have the money to spend on new flavor-of-the-week games, nothing beats a game with good replay value. Score attacks, time attacks, etc... If a game is well-made, there are numerous reasons to replay it.The amount of kids ITT who don't know the meaning of the phrase "replay value" is saddening. :( True gamers are indeed a dying breed...

I can appreciate games with replay value; however, I choose use what little time I have for gaming to try out new experiences once I have finished a game. I know how to budget so I know how much disposable income I have each month and therefore know that I can afford a few new games a month if I want them and still have money going into my savings account.Yes if you mean playing games like Halo 3, Gears of War 1, & 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Raiden 4, Call of Duty Mordern Warfare 2, HaloReach or any other game more than once.
Yes these games I played at least 3 times. Once by myself and twice with other people.
So yes, depends on the game.
I will admit, half the time, when I buy an old game that I've wanted for so many years. After I have it, it just sits on my shelf gathering dust. But really I suppose it depends on the game. But lately I just seem to be collecting more, than playing. But I'm not spending a fortune on my games. If I can afford them, and I really want it, then I will buy it. I'm trying to remember in fact, the only other game I've replayed the most is, "Chrono trigger." I bought a copy on the DS, but I played it when it first came out for the Super nintendo. That is more than likely the only game I have ever played the most out of, and it wasn't a multiplayer game. Multiplayer games you can play forever, because you have a lot of friends and people online to play, and fight with. But a single player game, they're lucky if they can last one play through now a days.
If I platinum a game I rarely ever touch it again. If I just play through the story though, sure, I might very well play through it again. I've played almost all of my PS2 games at least twice (some as many as 6 or 7 times) and I've played several PS3 games several times through.
I have to get my GTA IV back, I want to end it all over again.
same goes for Red Dead Redemption.
I ended Gears 1 & 2 like 3x each... Once myself then two times again... one time with my best friend the other with my g/f.
Halo 3 I ended about 2x...
Depending on the games fun factor or story I'll do a second run though.
