Or do you have them because you actually enjoy playing the games for them?

I'm a collector and I play the games for them . not always, but i go through phases. right now Road Rash on PS1 and sometimes Gran Turismo2.
It depends. I still keep my SNES because I love to play the games, but I only have a ps2 because Im too lazy to get rid of it and I probably wouldn't get alot of money anyways. I would still play it if I could find the games that I want and be able to get them at a reasonable price considering how old they are.
I am considering buying an N64 and a dreamcast to play them.
Used to, now I'm more practical.
I have various MD,MCD, SS and DC systems from all regions that I brought mostly for collectivity purposes and never really use. Now, looking back, I don't regret having bought them because they're very cool to have, but it's very funny to think I was able to spent that much money on them back then because I certainly can't afford to do that now.
I bought an original Game Boy off ebay just to make sure I'd have one, even though the screen is so small it's not much fun to actually play. I doubt I'll ever play it much but that's a one off as it doesn't take up much space and I still really like the design of the original chunky version.
Everything else I keep specifically to play, especially in the case of the Mega Drive as the games for that console aren't as fun using the different controllers on the Wii or on the Mega Drive compilations on the Sony consoles (although they're useful for rare games that I couldn't justify spending too much money on).
Same. Its also hard for me to sell a console, no matter how old it is.I collect games both as a collector and to play them .

I still have my Original Gameboy and Gameboy Color. I know I'll never use them again since I have the oh-so sweet GBA-SP. The screen is larger, is backlit, and the thing is rechargable with superior sound! But I can't get rid of the older models, lol. I've tried to sell them for $10 a piece and had no takers. They work same as when they were new, too. Not a thing wrong with them.

same here, i collect them and play all of them, and it would be impossible for me to part with them.
I don't collect game consoles or games, I will only buy a console like my recently aquired NES because I plan to play them. I feel like I wasted my money if I don't play them.
none of the above... only got an xbox360(broken) and a ps2. i don't collect and i only play games that interest me.
Still playing old consoles.
I do have an NEX that I still haven't taken out of the box just in case both my NESs die.
I buy consoles usually because I want to play their games. In fact, I have some extra consoles I should probably sell off (an extra NES that needs cartridge slot repair, an extra SNES, an extra Saturn, and an extra Xbox, but I think I might want to keep the Xbox). However, there's the really odd case of my Neo-Geo CD, which I STILL don't have any games for. Cost me a pretty penny, too...hope I can recoup it if I decide to turn around and sell it!NamelessPlayer
I'm actually looking to buy a Saturn
I have virtually every game, console, and accessory from my 20+ years of playing games. If my aunt didn't give away a few of my games when she and my uncle sold their house, I'd still have them all lol. I'm a natural collector, and it's hard for me to let things go once I started a collection lol.
