I do see myself as a gamer in 20 years.

in 20 years? Id be around 50 :3
But yeah, I do ^^ I see gaming no different then I view movies or books, it is just the newest form of entertainment. And so diverse that thre s something for everyone really.
i'll be 50 :(
i'm not sure though as I get older I find it harder to get into games, only really play rpg's with the odd action/shooter.
probably like 85% of games released I have no interest on.
I don't see me stopping but I seem to be slowing down.
I am sure I will be, even if I am playing games that have come out in the last few years. I recently read a forum post made by someone who is 81 (in a flight simulator forum).
Exactly. I haven't stopped watching movies and TV just because I grew up, I'm just watching different movies and TV shows than I did as a kid. I'm still reading books, just different ones. So why should I stop gaming? As long as there are games for me to enjoy, and there always will be, I will keep playing video games.I see gaming no different then I view movies or books, it is just the newest form of entertainment. And so diverse that thre s something for everyone really.

I'll be 41 then, I'm not so sure if I will still be playing video games.. As early as now my fondness for it is deteriorating..Ronstera
yup same here :( trying to get really into pc gaming now as that seems more to my tastes compared to all the new motion stuff
There will still be games available for us if it does... retro-gaming is cool. :)id like to think so but if gaming really goes down the whole casual motion sensing kinectaimals get fit route i wont be

I'll probably be about a decade into my tenure as a professor at that point... so I may have time to game, but I may not. Though 20 years from now I'll probably start having kids, or will have them already, and will be able to get them into gaming.
With the current state of the industry--carbon-copy sequels, gimmicky 3D and motion controls, lack of original IPs--I have a hard time seeing myself as a gamer in two years.
Yes, but only because I would want my kid(s) to know the joy of it. In any other case, I probably wouldn't have time to continue gaming.
I would like to think so, but this will be the first generation of folks in their late 50's that actually have a dedicated interest.tuckden77My maternal grandfather was a very dedicated collector of swords and fire arms, my maternal grandmother was passionately interested in the art of cooking. My paternal grandparents both collect books, and in addition to that my paternal grandmother is deeply dedicated to the cause of helping orphans in poor regions of south-east Europe. No offense meant, but how many people of your parents' generation do you actually know? :? If you honestly believe that no one before our generation had a "dedicated interest" in anything, then you really need to sit down and get to know your parents better. Video games are not the only thing in the world people can be passionate about, you know.
i'm 25, was playing video games 20 years ago, i'll be playing them 20 years from now.... but 20 years after that i'll be too brittle to play Kinect IV
Always a gamer at heart heh. I'm finding that as I grow older there is less and less time to be had or scheduled in for gaming. Prolly only play 1-2 hours a week if that.
Also, if the future of gaming is going to continue to degrade into purely hyped, superficial consumerism without any substance or enjoyable longevity...I'll just be playing my old favs to reminise once in a while and just rent new titles to see what the fuss is all about.
