Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of DLC. It adds more replay value to the game, but now so many developers are abusing it in my opinion. For example, NCAA Football 13 is one I noticied recently, you can get achievements by playing five characters, but three or four are available as DLC. King of a poor gesture to the consumer if you ask me.

It's becoming even worse if you ask me, and I hope game developers will change this. Anybody else agree? It seems like developers are more focused on making DLC a priority than focusing on the primary goal-- make an amazing game. There has been some great games this generation, but in terms of innovation it is one of the worst. Rehashes, and rehases plus DLC. Hopefully this will change in the next-generation, but I doubt it.

If it's a simple add-on to the game then I like the idea, because it's just improving the game in general, but the example you gave up their of an achievement relying on DLC is a bit of a dick move on the developer's part.

I'm not a fan. If you're going to charge $60.00, put it all in.

I think it's pathetic when you get games with same day DLC.

But as long as people keep buying it, it'll keep getting sold.

It's pretty ridiculous when a developer cuts content from a game to sell a month later to get more money. If the game feels complete out of the box and doesn't need DLC but gets it, I don't mind as it's a choice for the player if they want to buy the new content. If it was built before the game came out, could've been in the game but was intentionally taken out to be sold as DLC, that's not ok. Dark Souls' Artorias of the Abyss DLC is a good example of DLC done right, the game felt complete without it and the content was built due to fan demand and was more of a fan service. It did a great job of expanding on the lore of Lordran. GTA4 felt like a complete game out of the box as well, the expansions R* added were amazing and did a great job of weaving all the characters' stories together as well as adding to the sense of realism of Liberty City. I think COD gives gamers enough maps out of the box so their map packs are fairly priced for those that play the game daily. Fallout DLC is always fairly well done despite the bugs, they feel like large expansions generally. Not all DLC is done poorly, it's the Devs that hold back content that should be on the disc that ruin the concept of DLC, which is to expand on an already complete game and please the fans that want more.

DLC doesnt piss me off for one huge reason...IT'S NOT MANDATORY THAT YOU BUY IT! Sure the example you gave is common thing among DLC. New content usually means additional acheivement points but considering I'm one of the few people left on the planet who could give two flips over them this is a moot point.

Don't get me wrong I wish the cat woman, Robin and Nightwing content was included free of charge with Batman Arkham City but I dont blame the developers for wanting to make an extra buck. That's just good old American capitalism at work. The point is I had a choice whether to buy it or not and I chose to buy it.

Considering I bought BM:AC used I really dont feel like I was ripped off. Conclusion, DLC not only extends the game experience beyond release it adds more content to a game you may or may not like. As far as I'm concerned more is good. Choice is good.

No not at all. If I feel it's worth it then I'll buy it if not then I'll either wait for it to go on sale or pass on it all together.

I don't get mad I just lose interest. If a franchise is well known for having tons of post-release DLC, I'll just wait for the GOTY version to come out. If I really enjoy a game I usually platinum it, by which time I've spent more than enough time with it and I don't need additional content. And from my experience with DLC, it's extremely rare that it would even be worth downloading for free, much less paying money for.

This whole "Buy our game now for $60 and we'd appreciate it if you'd also pre-order all the future DLC for $30, so $90 for the game total..." I just laugh.

The internet is the worst thing to ever happen to gaming. Maybe if I had the attention span of a spider monkey I'd like the spawn kill die mechanic of online shooters better. If only I didn't remember a day when I got the whole game when I first purchased it I'd like DLC.

DLC doesn't piss me off. Most of the games I've played have DLC that I've never purchased and I still enjoy the game. DLC is being done right imo; completely optional content that isn't required for enjoying the game. Criers gonna cry, haters gonna hate.

DLC is too often a rip-off. Sure you don't have to buy it, but sometimes it feels like I'm missing out on a chunk of the game without it. Some DLC can be done well, but generally I just find the price to be too high.

I hate buying a game, then it realeasing DLC a week after launch which I have no intention to buy, so then I get sectioned off into the 'doesn't have the DLC' playlist, which is notoriously bad. This then makes it very difficult to continue playing or come back to the game. Gears 3 was an example of this, I'd love to go back and play the game, but I can't, because there was so many map packs realeased and only one playlist without them. I don't mind singleplayer DLC so long as it isn't cutting content, but multiplayer DLC needs to be handled very differently because it restricts the replay value of your game. DLC packs should be bigger, but less often.

I don't buy it so it doesn't piss me off. And the games I tend to play and really enjoy don't have much or any DLC.

Not really. I like the idea of being able to expand my game long after I've already bought the game for a new challenge. Most times I just ignore it, because I am too lazy to cough up the extra money :P

The only time DLC pisses me off is when I want to play a game online and it makes me buy all the packs.Like Toy Soldiers:Cold War, you have to have all the DLC to play online and I don't like that.

If it's an add on type DLC. Like Shadow Broker or Overlord for ME2 then it's good.

If it's a day one DLC like From Ashes for ME3, then it sucks. It should be free with the game. Expecting people to pay $10-$20 for something that was made beside the game is wrong.

Hm, I don't think so.

I just found it dumb that you would have to pay for it, even when you have the season pass.

I'm okay with it, but when it gets to the point when companies are taking content out of the game just to make a few extra bucks as DLC, or when they release DLC first-day, then I have a problem.

Not involving those two though, I do think that DLC adds more replay value to game.

I'm Ok with DLC if it is an expansion type add-on. If I play a game and feel that something is missing like features, characters or costumes and then that gets released as "extra" content, then yeah, pretty pissed off.

It annoys me that I have to wait to buy the GOTY edition that'll hopefully contain all the DLC.

But DLC is overall good.

Season Passes annoys me because it comes across as the devs making a mockery of it's fanbase. "Save now on future DLC when you pre order this incomplete game!" My solution is to never buy games Day 1 and wait for a price drop or bargain bin deal. Either that or some low ball deal too good to pass up if I'm really interested in playing.

I'll youtube any DLC, or any game I'm thinking about buying for that matter and see if it's worth the money 1st, especially with AAA games. Sometimes spoilers can be a real money saver imo. If the game looks solid, spoilers won't stop me from purchasing and enjoying.

if I like a game then I like dlc so I can play the game some more. i feel 60 bucks is way too cheap for a game anyways. i would probably be willing to pay closer to 260 bucks for games like uncharted and la noire if they charged that much.

That makes sense. I know most people got it free for pre-ordering the game, but it was stupid that it wasn't included with the Season Pass. To me if you buy a season pass it should include everything.

I don't like DLC because so many developers have the content on the disc and you buy a code to unlock that content.. many devs know what DLC they'll make before shipping the game, so they should just throw it in the game to begin with.

DLC doesn't bother me. As someone has already pointed out, it's completely optional. The only thing that DOES piss me off, is when a multi platform game only releases DLC to one of the available consoles/systems, instead of releasing it for everyone to buy. Which leaves the rest of us, who own the others, left out.

Multiplayer DLC is a pathetic attempt to make more money, and buying it for a few maps or weapons is just beyond me why anyone would pay for it.

I'll happily pay for single player content though, especially worthy add-ons like for Fallout 3, Undead Nightmare or Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den.

Not really. I can still enjoy a game without all the extras.
