Not all video games are intense, some of them are relaxing (like Animal Crossing or Bejeweled). I'm interested to know how video games affect you. When you play a game, does it relieve you of stress and/or anxiety?

Even if they're intense they help me relieve stress. Sometimes it's helpful to have your mind busy with something else just to switch gears.
I wouldn't say relieve stress per se, but it's more of just an experience. A different world...something to be immersed in.
It could relieve or create stress. But, a challenge, even if it's stressful, can be exciting. Something you want to persevere to complete. That makes you feel good.
In a way. But using game guides, or not being able to pass a level or knowing where to go is the hight of frustration at times.
