I got DAO on PC cuz they said its superior, and Im used to such RPG-PC style(Baldur's Gate and NWN)... I heard the console versions is totally different. You will be fine da 2 has become extremely consolized you wont have a problem.
Thing is for DA2, I might get a PS3 version cuz I use my desktop for work mostly, my laptop is being used by My Wife a lot. And when I do have time to play on the PC, its for WoW with My Wife.
Just wondering if the console version of DA is tolerable, and what are the main differences should I expect?Me_Ann
the console version of the regular DA are fine, its still playable, I finished it on 360 and didnt have any problems.

Yeah, I know, but I am used to the PC-RPG type, from games like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate. I miss those games and DAO brings sweet nostalgia to old school RPGs.
I don't think I follow what you're asking...
If you already have Dragon Age: Origins on PC, then you'll know it's somewhat old skool, ish.
But Dragon Age 2 is going to be a Hack 'n Slash Action-RPG, with an emphasis on the action, it looks like it might play sort of like Bayonetta the Devil May Cry games.
They've said that you can import your Origins save and it'll change things in 2, BUT, you're playing a completely different character, so I don't see what they can do with that idea.
Does that answer your question?
Kevin Van Ord spelled out the huge difference between the PC and the consoles in his review of DA:O.
I run it on my PC, and I'll run DA2 on the PC as well.:)

Well you'll be sad to heard that DA2 is turning into another God of War clone and will be nothing like a PC-RPG, even on PC.Hack and slash?! What a ripoff. Why did they do that?! I didnt bother checking previews cuz I know Im gonna get it. and to avoid even minor spoilers.

They claim to be listening to the fans, but it sounds like they're feeding the trolls. Don't get me wrong, 2 still looks cool, but it should be a spin-off, not a sequel.
the differences for the original were the graphics, a closer camera for consoles (the pc camera is more functional), and consoles getting a UI thats a little slower thanks to not having as many hot keys. that said, the console versions are still good. its just that the pc version is better.
however, it doesnt look like bioware is content on making the same game. they are supposedly going to make the game more suitable to consoles. it seems that the consoles still wont have that useful isometric camera, but bioware will take greater advantage of the closer camera by filling in the upper parts of the levels that the player will be able to see. DA2 better have some gorgeous skies and ceilings. as for the lack of hot keys, im not sure how they plan on working that out. even then, it wasnt the end of the world in the original if you were pausing the action like you should.

listening to the fans?? i thought the fans were happy to have an oldschool crpg...making a game like dmc or gow isnt listening to the fans...personally im still kinda upset they advertised it as the successor to baldurs gate and it doesnt even use d&d ruleset nor is it in forgotten realms...but thats just me...
You will be fine da 2 has become extremely consolized you wont have a problem. exactly, they are making the 2nd one more console friendly the first one was a quick port (1 year) so they didn't have a chance to polish it like they wanted to.[QUOTE="Me_Ann"]I got DAO on PC cuz they said its superior, and Im used to such RPG-PC style(Baldur's Gate and NWN)... The first Dragon Age is alright on the consoles. It's difficult to be as tactical as on the PC, because it works a little different, and that may be a little annoying on harder difficulties.
I don't know about the second one. We haven't gotten much footage of it yet and if it's been dumbed down to regular hack n' slash, I'm not getting it.
