dreamcast fishing rod?

can you play the fishing games if you don't have the fishing rod controller? like just with button controls or something? i wanna get sega marine fishing but that controller is like 40 bucks

if you can how does it work? do you like turn the analog stick to reel in or something?

Yes they can be played fine without the special controller (certainly better than Samba de Amigo without the maraccas), although they certainly will be a lot more enjoyable with it.

SEGA Marine Fishing and Get Bass 1&2 are very fun games, so IMO it's worth investing $40 on the special controller, you'll have a lot of fun for a long time.

I don't remember the exact price anymore, but I purchased the DC fishing rod controller bundled with Sega Marine Fishing for $20 or $30. Both were brand-new.

lol i have been...the cheapest ones on ebay that are either auctions or buy it nows are both 40 bucks and the cheapest one on amazon is 25 bucks but theres no game and no photos of it so thats pretty sketchy
